Gang,

I had a great time at the 2019 IRCHA Jamboree. I spent most of my time under the scale tent but did take out my sport machine for some Auto Practice and learning. (thanks Dan)

This year I again flew my EC-145. My Bell 212 is not airworthy yet but I could not just let it sit home.. so it came with me too.

My new trailer and van worked nice.. it was nice to have just a tick more room. The trip to the event was a challenge but the way home was better.

Lots of people were involved in the event from Darrell S, Peak Aircraft, Vario, IRCHA, AMA staff, Dano the meat man, and so on.. such good friends!

Then to the contest.. (the reason I tick).. thank you Darrell and the Judges… We held off until Saturday to fly the contest and with that came some wind.. we all flew it in and it proved to be a good challenge for all. I snuck in the win with Emile and Evan close in tow. The event really was a good time. Super chill with a hint of wind! Thanks again Darrell for putting on the contest. I hope Brown Dog is feeling better too..

The turn out to the scale area as well as the entire event was down BUT.. I have to say.. it felt more like a Funfly then any other year I have attended. I did miss some of the vendors but have to thank Vbar and KST servos.. There prize donations were very nice, and I walked away with a few goodies from the drawing.

A few scale pilots got turbine wavers…. I saw a few incredible flights as we held down scale hill!

Thanks all

Hey everyone,
Made it home safe from the nats and ircha and i hope everyone did too. The nats was very eventful especially since i wasnt planning to go this year but some serious persuasion had me heading down to Muncie from Michigan a few days early. Some rainy weather, heat and a little humidity didnt stop us scalers from getting in a static and 3 rounds of flying.
Tim Green did a great job of running the event.
Ircha followed the nats eith a lower than normal turnout but the scale tent didnt show it. The scale contest went a planned on saturday with grim coming out on top with a victory. Congrats Mike on a well flown contest and a well deserved win!it just goes to show that hard work, persistence and practice is well worth the effort.
It was nice to see Mark at the event and he visited the scale tent for a while.
It was especially nice to see Gayle (Sleeper) who surprised us with a visit. Its been a few years since most of us saw him last. Gayle i think you made the day for several of us when you showed up. Hope to see u at dalton this year as well.
Thanks to all who made it all possible and i have a lit to thank Darrell n Sadie for sharing facilities with me at the nats. Already looking forward to next year!

Very nice pics!

Did Sandy demo his big red/white one w. fenestron tail, at centerstage Sat. afternoon? I seen it suddenly appear in the spectator area, and never seen anything more on it.

If he did, I shall kick myself for not staying for it!

I flew the 1/4 scale Vario EC-120 nine times at IRCHA this year (Wednesday - Saturday). I flew it 3 times on Saturday at the Scale area in the somewhat windy conditions.
It was on Friday afternoon that it was on display at "show center", and I made one flight there with it during the Peak Aircraft (Vario/Minicopter) demo hour. Nick Maxwell flew my Turbine Starwood Lama and Mark Smith flew the Vario Bell 212 and Vario "T-Rex Lama" during that demo time as well.

If you want to see that Vario EC-120 fly some more, come on down to the Dalton, GA event in September.
