wjvail I still have my 14MZ for exactly the reason you mention. When new it was 72mHz. With a 2.4gHz module (and about 50 new receivers) I was able to extend its useful life.

Exactly the same for my 12Z.
FM--FASST--DSM2 spektrum

Till today, expecting for a cheaper FHSS module... Nothing

Wow this radio seems to have landed with a thud. I have never seen a new flagship radio from Futaba hit the streets with so little excitement. Does anyone (who is not a rep) own one yet? There was a time, years ago, when a new front-line radio would have been talked about many months in advance of its release. There would have been "spy shots" long before the radio was officially announced. Today, you can hardly tell the radio exists - even months after it is available for purchase. Talking about this radio is like pulling teeth. There seems to be only the sound of crickets.

Head count of RunRyderers - how many of us have bought one of these? Can you comment on the radio? Possibly comment on its capabilities relative to the radio you were previously using?.?.

Is it just that dead here? Has the time passed for a $3,000 radio? Is there great excitement about this radio on some other forum?

What's going on here?

As I See...

9Z... Best human interface, module for fasst, DSC capability.

10C... Module for fasst, display iluminated.

12Z... Flight conditions and three gyro setup, module for fasst.

14MZ... 12Z in colors...

18MZ... 14MZ plus fasstest, telemetry and FHSS: An expensive Tx that can handle cheaper Rx...
You can fly a jet with a cheaper and hidden FHSS receiver.

32MZ... 18MZ with more Channels... Two screens......
Now, while you are flying RC helicopters you can "Check" the two screens on your radio and don't loose control...fine!!!

I still waiting for FHSS module to fly cheaper Rx with my inexpensive 12Z...

Actually Bill, sales of the radio from FutabaUSA and other dealers have been quite good. My local dealer has sold two in about as many weeks, I know Alan at Helilids has sold at least one, and I'm sure others have sold them as well. I would not judge much based on traffic on the traditional forums, here included. Discussion on the social media forums has been good, and the 32MZ users group with whom I share admin with Carey Shurley has 115 members and is steadily growing.
It's a very nice radio. Feels great in your hands, noticeably lighter and more comfortable than an MZ and unlike anything I have held in recent memory, regardless of brand. The gimbals definitely feel better/stiffer. My flying buddy is so thrilled with his over his previous MZ that he can a hardly stop talking about it.

Thanks Ben.

Recently, in a PM with a friend here on RR, I noted Futaba was out on its own after the fall of Hobbico. I would say the same applies to myself with the decline of RR, HF, RCG, etc. I enjoy living in a smaller town in Mississippi and with forums such as this, I never felt that isolated. But with less traffic here, and my stubborn refusal to use Facebook, I am increasingly out of touch. Having flown Futaba radios for nearly 40 years I don't need a lot of help using them - but I do lose touch with how the market is going. Judging by this 32MZ thread, you would think Futaba hasn't sold a single radio. There is zero excitement/interest here.

My posts and quest for information is a little selfish. I am fishing for a reason to spend a considerable amount on a new radio. Like a lot of us, I can spend a reasonable amount on this hobby and not immediately notice. When the numbers approach 3K, it's hard to miss it on the monthly bank statement. It's not that I can't buy a new TX. It's that I need a good reason to.

But more than that, I want Futaba to do well. I want Futaba to flourish. Clearly Futaba is some of the most reliable and most innovative equipment you can buy - and always has been. I've flown Futaba equipment since switching from Kraft some time in the '70s. I want Futaba to do well so that I can keep flying. There is a very long list of traditional hobby brands that I never thought would go - and yet they are gone. I want Futaba to not only to continue to exist, I want them to continue to excel.

In the uk the Futaba 32MZ comes with the Futaba R7108SB receiver

The Futaba R7008Sb that’s been out a few years now looks the same as the R7108SB and same amount of channels etc so apart from frame rate is that the only difference? What is the difference between the two?

Using the 32MZ can you use model match using the R7008SB receiver?
As have a few of these or can model match only be done using the R7108SB Receiver?

Thanks

With one exception, Model ID works with all FASSTest and TFHSS receivers. The included receiver with work with either FASST or FASSTest transmitters.

Correct.

It works with the CGY760R, as well.

R3004SB is the excluded receiver with regards to the Model ID feature.
