BeltFedBrowning Are you talking about the LMH 110? I bought one back then too, like, 1997?

While I cant disagree about the Lite Machines, It got a boat load of people into the hobby, and was virtually indestructible. The Innovations that thing had was pretty cool in my opinion.

It was very difficult to fly, bit how many glow helicopters could fly into a tree, and live. 90% of time all you had to do was just fold the blades back down and restart.

Something to be said about that.

My LMH 110 flew like herding cats. I flew it, but it was not enjoyable. I am glad it was so durable, though. I did fly it into many trees.

The original T-WRECKS. They were cloned by Hobby Lobby or vice versa. Plastic molding that rivaled the quality of a 1978 nickel vending machine toy. Fit and finish was about as good as a Trabant.

But they were cheap.

Align has really stepped up their quality. A lot.

Reminds me of an old video I have stored on my hard drive. I just chunked it up on YouTube.

Love the video, got a chuckle a few times. You had the Piccolo flying pretty good, then you would crash and have to start over. Been there too many times.

For the record... That's not me. I actually never owned a Piccolo. It's one of the few mistakes I've been able to avoid. The video is one I downloaded some time around 2004. It's been sitting on my hard drive for years and today I decided to upload it.

The best odds are that I downloaded it from right here on RR. It's possible someone will be able to claim it as theirs.

Piccolo

The below video almost inspired me to buy one. Almost. It is important to remember that in 2001 electric helicopters barely existed, LiPos were new, and the entire arena of micro helicopters was cutting edge.

I was able to put off buying a Piccolo and waited long enough to by a JR Voyager. With a brushed motor and 8S NiMh batteries the Voyager would fly.. but only just. With considerable modification it was a nice stepping stone in my heli progression.

Kalt Whisper. A tiny underpowered attempt at electric back in the early 90s. When I did finally get it off of the ground, it literally exploded in a hover. I don't remember pushing a self destruct button, but that's what it did!!!Treat me good, I'll treat you better. Treat me bad, I'll treat you worse.

Lion Models Heli-Cat - which was the predecessor to the Century Hawk. The plastic used in the side frames and links and blade grips and other important parts was soft, like cold molasses.
