Is it OK to leave Facebook?
I don't understand the point.

Your feed is populated with what?

Are you popular. I'm not.

It’s OK to leave Facebook...

Will things come full circle?

Forum discussions are more pull than push.

You’re already closing down RR... there’s no point in keeping up a FB account much less even starting one...

Enjoy your retirement on a beach sippping on a margarita looking at butts and boobs away from all this tech BS ...

You’ll be much happier
showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

Suffice it to say, RR broke the bank. I have to work until I'm dead.

Fine with me.

I have a facebook acct that a friend set up for me. I have never really done facebook because if you didn't check it at least once per hour, you missed most of what is going on. So I decided to just miss all of what was going on.

I got rid of my Facecrack account a couple years ago. What a relief to remove myself from narcissist central. I will rejoice in jubilant laughter when Facecrack, Instahoe, and Twatter go belly up.sponsored by overtime

I have no use for Facebook. I have an account but only because at one time my then 13 year old daughter was developing a group of "friends" and a "social" life on Facebook and MySpace. It was the job of my wife and I to look over her shoulder and keep and eye on who she "hung out" with. She is now 28 and I haven't logged on to FB in years.

As a side note... My wife friend requested my teenage daughter. She didn't except the request. My wife was pissed. I told my daughter she didn't have to accept the request but, I didn't have to allow her internet access. She begrudgingly accepted the request but came up with a line we still teaser her about today. She said, "Old people are ruining Facebook".

I was shocked by how intrusive it is. I signed up using fake name, fake town, fake workplace, but i used a real e-mail address, next day i started recieving friend requests. My friends had shared thier contact list with FB. Before long some of my friends were even tagging me and my workplace...

Of course it's ok to leave Facebook.

I prefer to stay because of the good groups I subscribe to.

Rc helis buy and sell
Spektrum support group.
ALIGN RC helicopters and setup

There are many others, you do have control over your feed.
Just like anything new, you have to learn it. That's if you're interested in learning.

After posting above I tried to log onto my Facebook account for the first time in many years. I got the below note. They want my phone number obsessively to verify my account. Well, I'm not giving Facebook my phone number. I considered giving them my wife's but they that's not allowed. How could they track me if they only had my wife's phone?
Enter Your Phone Number
To help make Facebook more secure for you and your friends, we can't accept phone numbers owned by another person.
This number will not be added to your account and will not be shared with other people on Facebook.
You can, however, upload one of the below:
To make sure that this is your account, we need you to send us a photo or scanned copy of an item in group one from this list of IDs.

Some of the items that you can use are:
Passport
Driver's license
Marriage certificate
National ID card
Keep in mind that anything you directly upload here is encrypted and stored securely. Once we resolve your issue, we'll delete the copy of your ID within 30 days.

Hahahaha! I swear FB is run by some North Korean ID theft mobster.

If they have none of that info, there is nothing to "protect".

The truth about FB is probably worse than just ID theft. At least that is rapidly becoming useless.

It is a British IT site, but still worth the read.

The book of faces will sell anything to make a buck. No one will do anything about what ever happens to you because of what they profited from. Owned by left winger's and working to undermine freedoms. Claim to be open but ban anyone they don't want heard. Never used it never will. MAGA If it isn't beating the air up it isn't flying
