Hi guys,
I bought these 3 servos from a fellow here on RR while ago. I just noticed that they all have slop or play about 1 or 1.5mm. Its not between servo output shaft and horn but it seems internal.
I just wanna know if this much slop or play is ok to use on my Goblin 700 ?.
Thanks.
Arshad

Is is safe to assume this 1 to 1.5mm play is present while the servos are powered up, the sticks are centered and you are measuring the "play" about 15mm to 17mm from the center of the servo arm?

If you are about 15mm out from the center and measuring 1 to 1.5mm play while the FBL controller is powered up and the stick is centered, that might be a problem

If you are more than 20mm out from center or the servo is not powered on or the servo is not being controlled by the FBL, then it might not be a problem.

If so, and it worries you, you may want to replace their gear sets - if you can find them.
The gear set used to be around $30 (JRPSGZ9000S). https://www.horizonhobby.com/servo-...00s-jrpsgz9000s
But Horizon Hobby lists them as discontinued.

Measure it at center then move off center by about 10-15 degrees and you will find it to be a lot less. That means it is gear wear that is normal and found the center area. Not I said normal, not acceptable. The gears seem to wear where they reside the most, right in the center. It would be great if they were designed so they could be rotated out of the warn area. Gear replacement is the only solution or live with it. Neither are very good in the end.

JR servos do have a detent/backlash , should tighten up under power . I’m not saying a exact measurement but from new out of box without power they do have some movement .

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)
