AH-6 Little Bird - 800 size RTF
Just checking to see if there's any interest in this. It's located in Arkansas, and I'd be willing to drive/meet a buyer. Shipping would be difficult though and not sure I'd trust that.

Built a few months back, probably has about 6 or 7 flights on it. No signs of wear/damage/scratches..etc
The decals on it are just vinyl and can be removed if wanted.

Here's a quick break down of the components:

- Kontronik 160hv ESC with Bluetooth module
- Kontronik Pyro 700-45L Motor
- KST X20-2208 Cyclic Servos
- KST X20-1035 Tail Servo
- Spirit Pro FBL with Geolink GPS module
- FrSky XR8 receiver
- 5200mah buffer pack (runs electronics, charges from ESC)
- 2x Pulse 5000mah 45c Main Packs (run in series, 12S)
- Horus X12s Transmitter (already setup for this machine!)
- Custom 12" Pilot

It's a BIG machine! There's a pic next to a 550pro that shows the size difference (makes the 550 look like a 200). Flies great, and handles wind well.
If interested shoot me a message and we can talk more and I can send more pics/details.

Here's a youtube video of it's 2nd flight. Was before I added the rocket pods and stuff, but shows how well it works:

Watch at YouTube

Final price reduced to $2500. Keeping the main lipos for another project.

Just haven't had time to fly it really. And truthfully, I probably enjoy building more than the actual RC flying.
I'm working on getting my private heli license, so most of my free time is spent flying real ones.

Frsky isn't compatible with the Spektrum stuff, BUT..... The Spirit Pro FBL is directly compatible with Spektrum. Just plug a couple satellites directly up to the Spirit Pro and you're done. Easier to setup than the Frsky.

After flying RCs real ones will be a bit easier in some respects. These FBL gyros on the models have changed the flight characteristics of the RCs away from the real ones a bit.

Are you interested in selling without transmitter and receiver?

Ya know, I really thought that my experience with RC helis would make transitioning to the real thing easy. I was wrong.

LOL, having some expo sure would help in hovering that freaking R-22.

t0mills,
nice machine. I like the size. I have 1000's of hours of full scale heli time. I think the real ones are easier to fly. I have maybe 1300 hrs in a MD 500, and 600notar. good luck with the sale and your license.

Wow, I keep looking at your heli, it looks so nice and I want to get into the big 800 size one day. I do wish I lived within driving distance because that baby would be in my hanger for sure. I have built about seven Hughes 500 scalers but in the 600 size, here are a couple of pics of mine, I ended up selling out, but when I return to helis I want to go big.

I love your video, watch it over and over.

You're a better stick than I am. It took me close to 15 hours to get the hang of stirring the pot on an R-22, held a CP Pro stable first time out!

Wow DCORSAIR. You are definitely a fan of the 500 series. Nice ships. I’m currently building a 450 size with a 5 bladed head. looking forward to tracking that.

I started flying RCs last Christmas. Finally feel competent to fly any of my models in any direction and do some simple aerobatics, not a fan of the 3D term.

I had a GMP Cricket back in the 80s, but was never able to hover it competently. Had a larger 60 size Hirobo, but never set it up properly. The one time I tried to fly in my front yard it revved up and then just shot straight up like a rocket! I didn’t have the pitch curve mixing set correctly. Cut the power from 100’ and some how got it to land back in my front yard in 1 piece. Got too busy with University to fly it again and sold it. But, promised myself I would get back into the hobby some day when I had the time to do it right, help with proper setup and practice flying every day.

I did a Commercial Helicopter add on to my private fixed wing back in 85. The first few hours in that 300C were pretty wild; no throttle governor back then. Lot of coordination required, but it all came together and I soloed in 5 hours. Was fortunate and got to fly a lot of different turbine birds. The 500E and EC155 were 2 of my favorites.

My return to RC was an accident. Was in a Tuesday Morning store last Christmas with the wife shopping and saw a variation of the V911 in there for $30. Couldn’t put the controls down. Was flying that thing all over the living room and kitchen. Crashed it quite a bit, but they hardly ever break. Those little indoor 4 ch fixed pitch birds are a great way to learn to fly. They are especially helpful with getting used to flying a model facing in any direction. I see a lot of guys learn to hover, but only with the model facing away from them; very limiting. Bought a Blade 230S after that and my addiction just blew up from there.

Thanks for all the posts and pics! Love seeing other birds.

And yeah, long road to get private heli license, but I'm chipping away at it. Took me about 4hrs before everything kinda "clicked". One advantage from flying R/C helis was that I completely understood how the heli worked, what the controls did, and how moving one control would effect the others. The part I had trouble with was making my brain coordinate my hands and feet! LOL
That's a big difference from the r/c transmitter.

I'll attach pic of my simulator setup that helped immensely to train my brain to coordinate hands and feet. With my VR setup, it really feels like you're flying in a real bird (x-plane 11).
