Hey folks, just saw that the Hirobofanusa Site is transferring ownership as of Oct 8th 2018. Would like to hear from someone who knows anything about this. Hope this is good?

Hey folks, according to Jeff at Hirobofanusa, it will continue to distribute parts in the US after ownership transition.

Ok...does anybody have a link to the website from the new owners??? http://www.hirobofanusa.com is GONE!! I hate to see Jeff Green out of the Hirobo picture now. He was TOPS to deal with...one of- if not THE nicest guys I've ever dealt with in this hobby from sales to support!

I still have two Freyas and hope they're not gonna end up in the scrap heap!

Interesting. I was just browsing it a week or so ago. My guess is they're re-designing it.

I wouldn't freak out over it. RCJapan has anything you need for the Japanese helis , and they're very easy to deal with.

I second the RC Japan option, Rudel's TMRF site and MidlandUK can be other sources as well. As long as Hirobo is still making parts, we're all good!

Hobo has parts. When you order something from RC Japan they fulfill your order directly from the factory.

Hirobofanusa is no more. It is currently shut down. Jeff had made a post on Facebook. I guess no one wanted it, or at least as of yet. Have to go to RC Japan.

Yep...I'm done. Couldnt find anything on FB either. Looks like he's washed his hands of the hobby entirely. I'll fly these two Freyas robbing parts off of one until they're both unflyable and Hirobo will be no more with me...UNLESS someone does revive and post their new site. Not interested in ordering directly from hirobo from Japan. May try ebay for small stuff if necessary for awhile. Thanks guys for all the help/suggestions.

Well Darral T, why are you throwing your toys from the cot?

RC Japan provide a great service. In Australia if we didn’t order from overseas we’d have to pay 2-3 times more for parts and wait months for them to arrive.

Placed many a RC Japan order. Not one problem. In fact I have gotten stuff quicker from them than an order from California. Not the norm, but still. I haven't a clue why you'd give up on them rather than just ordering parts. Seems a bit like nonsense.

I have had outstanding service from rc Japan. I will continue to purchase parts for both my Freya and my GPH from them. I'm sorry to see Jeff go, but that seems to be the norm for the hobby in general right now in this country.

RCJapan service, inventory, prices and speed to delver is second to none. Have placed many orders and everything has arrived in great condition, very well packaged and no issues with US customs. As far as I know, they have access to the most extensive Hirobo inventory of parts and kits than anywhere else in the globe. Buy with high confidence from RCJapan.

Ok, you guys have about convinced me...and pardon the ignorance here, but what about US dollar conversion? Am I missing something on the site to change/convert it?

I have a Freya on the bench right now that was just given to me with an OS 70SZ. I had to put new bearings (thanks to BOCA) in the engine as the former owner let it set up and rust/lock up. It's nearly ready to fly.

Is shipping expensive (I've read somewhere it can be on the full "kits" and about how long does it take? I would think California may be quicker to receive an order than Tennessee?

Thanks, Darral

I lost count of how many times I’ve ordered from RC Japan. Twice, they were out of something I needed. Both times, they offered to make a special run of the part, if I was willing to wait a little bit. Both times I did wait and my order was hardly held up at all. RC Japan orders direct from the Hirobo factory. Hirobo has the most extensive inventory, even of older parts. The problem with distributors in this country is that they only want to stock the best sellers. I ordered some stock Hirobo Shuttle mufflers from a place here in the states. They didn’t stock them, but they ordered them and gave me a good price. However, it took over 4 weeks to get them. Had it been a crash part I needed, I would have been grounded for that whole time. I’m all for supporting American companies but if they can’t offer at least near the service of the foreign ones, oh well. I wish the new owners well and I will give them a try.

Go to Google. Ask it, "XXX yen to usd". You'll get an immediate conversion. Easy.

I don't remember, but it's not going to be $20, so be prepared. It's coming from halfway around the planet. I got a Caliber 50 kit in about a week to MS. This was about a year ago.
