Morning All
Please recommend a source for a "Digital Pitch Gauge" to fit 11 cm or so wide main rotor blade.

Thanks
Don Dow

Not sure, but I am building a 1/6 scale Cobra that has 140mm wide main blades.

Morning Steve

I have ordered the RC Logger digital pitch gauge for my 2 PowerCats TSXL and Blue Thunder, all of which are 3-bladers.

My nephew Winston Curtis has a Super Cobra turbine from Heli-Factory.
His has the 140mm (5.5in) and smaller 96mm (3.76in) blades.
Winston was wondering what size diameter main rotor is yours and is it from Heli-Factory?

Thanks
Don Dow

Hi Don!

My main rotor is the same as Winston's (Spin Blades 1050mm x 140mm) with Heli-Factory rotor head. And yes, my Cobra is from Heli-Factory, but I am building mine as electric. I purchased everything from Daniel at Eastern Helicopters, he has been absolutely great to work with.

I use a Robart incidence meter
it will work with all chord spans.
Steve be careful with the Spin blades on your cobra,
mine started to de-laminate after sitting in the Dalton sun,
also had hollow places in the blades not happy with them at all.

12mm main shaft.

How does Winston like his Cobra?

Thanks for the heads up. I am aware of the sun issue and have blade covers being made to protect them in the sun if I can't find shade - I warned Jim Spice about them as he has the same blades on his turbine Huey and he had his Huey sitting out in the sun.

I've had one pair of Spin blades prior to these and was very happy with them. I have heard of some rather serious QC issues with Spin Blades recently. Which is a shame. Hope they can get back on track at making good blades.

Evening Steve

Winston loves his cobra. He said with the 12mm m/r shaft that it flexed too much; so, he converted swash plate et all for 15mm. He is still experimenting with the large cord blades and the smaller cord.
Cheers

Interesting. Hope the conversion solves his issues. Mine should be ready for a test flight soon.

How's your Blue Thunder?
