Synergy ProTune Muffler.
Does anyone have any experience with the Synergy ProTune mufflers? I currently have 4 OS 1.05s installed and I'm using OS Power Boost, Hatori, and FunTech mufflers. The Synergy is the newest of the mufflers and I'd like to give it a try. It is pretty pricey so I thought I'd ask for opinions before buying one.

Any thoughts? How is the power? How does it sound? Any maintenance issues? Weight or clearance issues?

Weight: Hatori 257.6g
Protune 284.8g

The verdict is still out on performance but not disappointed. Being sold mounted to motor the sound is different compared to Hatori.

Around here heat index has been 100+, so not much flying.

I'd be interested in hearing other's thoughts too. I read the write-up in Model Aviation this month, and it got me interested. I really didn't know Matt was making these.

It's actually just ProTune, it's not a Synergy part. I replaced my Hatori with the ProTune and it has not disappointed. It has a very nice sound, it's not harsh, or too loud. Power-wise, my 105 is making at least as much power as it was with the Hatori, which I had been flying for nearly the last 5 years.Rodney

Thanks for the input guys. The ProTune sounds like a good option now that Hatori is gone (pun intended ).

One day I'd like to have a muffler shootout. I'd like to take the mufflers off the helicopters I have them installed on, along with a few other mufflers I don't yet own, and one-by-one/back-to-back, install them on the same engine/helicopter.

While I've tried a lot of different mufflers over the last 30 years, there has always been enough difference in the helicopters they were installed on to make it difficult to draw any real conclusions. Sure I have a Hatori and a OS PowerBoost but one is on my TSA and the other on my 700XN. Different blades, gear ratios, FBL units, etc make it difficult to tease out what is pipe and what is helicopter.

I'd also like to try the Muscle Pipe 7. Anyone have any information? Anyone have an opinion? https://www.droneshelis.com/Exhaust...p-mp7105os.html
