Maybe a new site called AirRyder in the future! I could see Mark with towel over the head doing competition videos. No blades incoming
Interesting. Thanks for the feedback.

It was definitely a Great Ride and source of information for RC Helicopters and a meeting place.

Good Luck to All and may our memories stay alive as we travel into another chapter.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve not read anything in these threads about the site actually closing.....

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

Again you are correct, BUT there still are re-occurring expenses. Keeping it going and with the very limited advertisers, it is probably on life support. All we know is what Mark writes but it looks like the hand writing in on the wall. I do not want to see this site close, because I am still here obviously.

The best move Mark could make would be to take his SW and market it, to others that are starting up new forums where the is interest. That is if it is in a marketable form, or find a different hobby which is not in decline and move it as was suggested above.

I do not want to see this site close but I am sure Mark has reality slapping him in the face, every time the bill come due for the bandwidth. I have no idea how that portion works, but I am sure there are hosting costs associated with keeping this site 'on the air'

He did say he was suspending development, but to tell you the truth I do not see the need in further development now.

We have a great flying club/site but we only have 10 members. (Look in my gallery, I hold the lease on it) It is like me saying if I could only add an AC/heated club house the members will magically re-appear, but I know that's not true. They are gone and they are not coming back. Next year we will be lucky to have 8 and the year after that 5.

As many have already stated, I too would support a fee structure that would help cover operating expenses to keep this site and all of its archives active.

Mark has been very gracious in not charging anything since the inception of RR.

The classifieds section is pretty active on this site so perhaps a modest fee for using it if the item sells would be enough to accomplish the task ?

Mark, comments on any/all of the above ???

That is all fine and dandy, but how are you supposed to recruit new forum members charging fees no one else has to?

Team Synergy, Team FBL Rotors-------if its not broke...it will be!

It may not be a "recruiting tool" but it surely would raise some revenue to keep the site going....I see many, many folks join the forum so they can use the classifieds ON THE SAME JOIN DAY !!....and the rest of us "old timers" use the classified section on a regular basis. Both the newbies and old timers can pitch in to keep things going....

Once we keep the site afloat, then we can worry about the recruiting thing, IMO....
