This is my 2nd V1 700N..the original Align 700 Nitro kit was purchased new. On this first kit, I replaced the clutch shaft three times before I sold it.

Now, on a completely different kit, purchased used. After 2 flights I had to replace the clutch shaft. ok, that's acceptable on a used heli. I don't know what it's been through. Now, a case later and I've gone through another one.

Is this typical? Should I replace the clutch oneway as well? Or just keep getting new shafts?

Or am I doing something wrong? This doesn't seem like it should be a wear part.

if it ain't broke, break it.

Are you asking about the start shaft? If so I have had to replace one possibly two. over 7 years that I have owned the 700, but I have 6 helis so none get flown too much. My 700 was in time out for about a year once.

Not the starter shaft, the clutch shaft with the hex receiver on one end and the barrel end that engages with the clutch one way on the other. The barrel that engages with the oneway is what is getting worn out. It won’t engage the oneway.

if it ain't broke, break it.

It is not called the clutch shaft, it is called the starter shaft.. that's what the function of the shaft, is to start the engine. Has nothing to do with the clutch.

As for wearing out, yes. they do wear out. my suggestion: its probably more so the one way bearing then the shaft. replace both at the same time if it becomes inop.

looks like clutch shaft or start shaft is what is is called in the manual. and, seeing as how it engages directly with the clutch, it's an appropriate name. but, whatever.

I was just asking if wearing out after a case is normal.

if it ain't broke, break it.

Use a 3S or 4S LiPo in your Dynatron starter instead of a 6S.

Already cut down my 6s to 4s. Will have another go at this next case of fuel and see how it goes.

if it ain't broke, break it.
