what get's to me is how fast they drive while the cars are all bunched up, they don't give any one any room and they don't slow down, yet they go faster,,,, then of course they drive on the wrong side of the road and pass over on the shoulder, they just ask for what they get, that's crazy

I watch these videos and given people's stunningly poor reaction times and inability to recognize developing danger, I assume they are drunk or monkeying with their phones.

It's my opinion that everyone should be forced to ride a motorcycle for a period of time. You'll either learn defensive driving and courtesy to others, or die.

I think they should be made to watch these types of videos for 20 hours before they are given a drivers licence

In many of the Russian dash cam vids, the pedestrians just give a casual glance and move on. They also have red lights that count down time remaining so you get the light jumpers at the last second. Just Crazy. No wonder so many Russians have dash cams.
Both my vehicles and all my grandkids now have dash cams.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

While driving in Italy on a two lane road, it is acceptable practice to pass on the center line. Both lanes of traffic give way. My friend says Americans are greedy and defend their lane instead of sharing it.
I just got to the point of giving way. I even passed a time or two on center. Still makes me nervous. If everyone cooperates a third lane is available.

I spend a lot of time in Europe and I completely agree with your friend. Most of the world seems to have discovered that every person on a bike is one less car on the road. They move to the side and allow bikes to get where they are going. They seem to notice that this is a win-win and comes at zero cost to themselves. And when the journey is complete, 5 bikes will fit in the parking space one car would take.

In America there is a percentage of people, not all people, that look at someone on a bike moving through traffic as some asshole trying to get ahead of them. In much of the world people will move over for bikes. In America you need to be alert for someone opening their car door to stop you.

I'm serious when I say everyone should be forced to ride a bike for a period of time.

it seems to me that^^ is very backwards, passing over the center line is much-much more greedier

Lane splitting is legal all over the world - except the US. American car drivers can be nutty about it. Some will take measures in their own hands to prevent you from lane splitting. Most often they will maneuver to block your progress. In most cases that simply looks like them moving over in their lane to narrow the gap. Every other place on the planet, motorists will maneuver to allow riders through.

If every single-passenger car turned into a motorcycle that was lane splitting, EVERYONE would get where they were going MUCH faster. Win-Win.

That is just the attitude my friend is complaining about. I am not talking about lane splitting on motorcycles, I am talking about traffic making a third lane so cars can pass down the center. Of course, it gets a bit hairy when you have oncoming passing vehicles. Why pay to build another lane when you can share? Does it really cost you anything to share? I used to get mad at cycles lane splitting, but I could do it. Just buy a bike. I don't want anyone riding bikes to get hurt, so I just let them by. We can learn a bit from the Europeans, they have less land to build roads on.

Stop being greedy bastard and just give a little.

(it must be an American thing I guess LOL) cause I surely do not understand that^ thinking, so his attitude about it is "we do it and we will keep doing it, and it's OK to do it so the others should just stay out of our way because we do, do it", with that thinking why be mad at Outlaw drone pilots flying at airports, just get out of the drone's way, after all planes are still safer than cars,

tell him to watch the videos for 5 or 6 hours and see what passing over the center line can bring to some one that is innocent to the accident, tell him it should be enough not to do it because you never know what the other drivers will do, the videos proves I am correct,
tell your friend it works both ways, if some one is big-headed enough to think it's OK to do it, then the person that thinks it's wrong has the same big-headed right to think different LOL,

in 1973 at the age of 17 my brother died in a car because he too was thinking wrong, maybe if he actually knew how to drive he would still be alive today, he could have killed the other 4 in that car, but he didn't,,,, as it was one of the kids in that car that night went a bit crazy because of my brother death, he blamed himself, he would walk and walk and walked the streets for years and years and years blaming himself for my brother death (I remember seeing him, always just walking and walking to nowhere), for it was him that asked my brother to give him a ride that night, he didn't know my brother didn't have a drivers licence, yet my father blamed himself too, you never know what the other drivers will do
