So I had an issue today with my V-Control (3 years old) & new NEO.

The NEO (with pro/rescue) was set up and seemed to be fine for the first 3 flights yesterday. It has also been connected with no issues over a dozen times during heli set-up.

Tonight at the field however, I went to connect a pack on the 2nd or 3rd flight and I had the NEO disconnect by itself from the V-Control. It literally gave me the standard "Connection broken" pop up screen on the V-Control. The radio was laying about 12 inches from the heli (as it always is). The V-Control battery was at 80%. The antennas are in the Mikado boom mount so about 90 degrees but the tips are only about 60mm apart due to the canopy shape.

This happened 5 or 6 times. Each time, I power cycled the V-Control and reconnected the heli battery. I was not sure if I should be flying it but I took my chances.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Did you find the cause?

I'm a little nervous flying that NEO after this. I looked at the logs tonight and the only odd thing I see is one of the power up entries says: "Reset Reason : Watchdog"

All the others say "Reset Reason : Power On"

If it matters, I'm using an R2 buffer/capacitor (plugged into NEO ch4) that powers up by itself. When you unplug the main battery, it continues to power the NEO for about 45 seconds and then runs out and I get the normal "Connection broken" message. The buffer can be turned off before unplugging the main packs if preferred.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried to update your Neo and V-Control?

Try keeping the radio a couple of feet from the receiver while powering up .....

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

Thanks Juan. I think it was the sequence of turning off the R2 before unplugging the main pack.
