Its almost like he knew at what altitude the A380 would be at that point and put the drone at the same altitude to get a perfect fly-by shot. Pretty crazy stunt...

Gravity's a bitch ant it?

More-tarius island? Do these folks even try to learn geography, or are they just making stuff up?

I don't know who to feel more sorry for, the drone weenie or them.

This is just the latest episode. Drone Weenies and their Weenie organizations like the Commercial Drone Alliance and other lobbying groups are breeding this sort of thing without knowing it. This happened on foreign soil but has also gone on in the US. Their advocacy for the airspace between 0 and 400 feet which has been our domain for over 100+ years is now being threatened as you saw in the video I posted earlier. AMA is outgunned by commercial lobbying groups that have real money behind them but little else. Listening to nonsense like "we need transponders on all UAS" and how supermarket motion sensors are causing RF interference that endangers drone operations or how the airspace has changed is laughable. Our hobby hasn't changed, what has the changed is the volumetric density of idiots trying to fly appliances in airspace that is not safe for their use. IOW, they don't understand the safe use and practices that has been the hallmark of the AMA and it's members since the beginning. We don't fly out in public places over property or people.

The FAA could have prevented this by limiting access to Drones at the Point of Sale but they didn't have the balls to do it and the lobbying groups made up of manufacturers won out and flooded the market with cheap drones like the ones that Ken Heron flies with his crew. Now corporate zoot suits are flooding the halls of Congress spouting pure BS, the sky is falling and we need to eliminate 336 because commercial drones need the space desperately to survive and become viable. It's a sad situation Gents. I don't know how it's going to turn out.

The AMA was paramount to pushing this... they were our loudest voice but they chose to embrace them (non LOS systems) against the advice of its members... now all RC is lumped in with these fools...

TMoore,, what was that RC TV show, he did shows on all things RC, remember the guy died.. well in one of his shows he was testing a park flyer, the guy said something like "you can even fly them in the streets",,, wow, he knew better not to say such a thing, I have to wonder if he was paid to say that, there are a lot of intercity kids just looking for more things to have fun with..
just remember, law, fines, jail, prison and prohibition do not stop people from driving drunk

Chianelli. Chris Chianelli was a crazy sucker. I knew that dude from Toledo and other model shows. Chris had one hair on his head that did what he wanted and the rest of them did what they wanted plus he was just a little taller than Verne Troyer. Wikipedia listed him as an RC expert but if Chris were alive today he would tell you that his expertise was just about having fun in the hobby.

Yea, Drones are killing our sport and giving us more Regs because of it. I own a Phantom 4pro and love it but I respect where I fly, just crazy.

Got to have my cup of heli in the morning.

Well just for a change good news over here our organisations have been able to put a very good case that has separated the conventional flying models from the drones and all members of said organisations are allowed to continue flying above 400feet.

Well just for a change good news over here our organisations have been able to put a very good case that has separated the conventional flying models from the drones and all members of said organisations are allowed to continue flying above 400feet.

https://www.bmfa.org/News/News-Page...ft-height-limit
The recent 2018 amendments to the Air Navigation Order will come into effect on the 30th July, making it illegal to operate any unmanned aircraft (including model aircraft) above 400ft.

The UK model flying associations (BMFA, SAA, LMA & FPVUK) have been working in close collaboration in ongoing negotiations with the Department for Transport (DfT) and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and we are pleased to report that earlier today the CAA issued us with a joint ‘Permission’ to allow our members to continue operating ‘conventional’ model aircraft (excluding multi-rotors) weighing less than 7Kg at heights in excess of 400ft. The full text of this Permission can be viewed HERE.

The CAA has also issued an ‘Exemption’ to allow our members to operate ‘conventional’ model aircraft (excluding multi-rotors) weighing less than 3.5Kg at heights up to 1000ft using First Person View.
The full text of this Exemption can be viewed HERE.

Note that any model aircraft flying within 1km of the boundary of a licensed airfield at any height will have to be with the permission of the airfield air traffic control or airfield operator.

The Permission & Exemption will come into effect on the 30th July and are limited to members of the BMFA, SAA, LMA and FPVUK. Please note that they apply only to ‘conventional’ model aircraft (including helicopters) and do not exempt multirotor drones or unmanned aircraft with autonomous flight capability from the 400ft height limit.

It was only possible to achieve this result due to the recognition given by the DfT and CAA to the excellent safety record established by the model flying associations and our members over many years and we are grateful for their help and support in achieving such a positive outcome.

Today’s announcement is a great result for the UK model flying community and is the culmination of very significant collaborative efforts by the UK Model Flying Associations working together on behalf of their members.
Wow... thats what we need over here... a clear separation of the jokers causing 99% of the problems (NON-LOS and BVR multi-rotors)
