So i have one that is making a squealing / chirping noise i have read to re grease the gears and some say its in the motor. so i took it apart and greased the gears and tried to put oil in the little gear on the motor and let it run for awhile in both directions with out the gears in. It seem to help a little but still there. So my question is should i trust it or just $hit can all three servos.

I have a set of 451s in one heli... I recall taking them apart a few times to replace broken gear sets and if I'm correct the motor has bronze bearings... In my experience with larger motors that have these bronze bushing type bearings If oiling the motor only helps temporarily then it is that they are worn out, no amount of oil is going to stop the squealing and chirping as the clearances between the motor shaft and bearing are now too big thus allowing the shaft to wobble around at high frequencies in relation to the driver frequencies the little controller is sending to the motor (this is part of the chirping and squealing you hear)... the only other time Ive known bronze bearings is squeal is when there is a stick slip situation going on from lack of lubrication OR the fit is too tight... I doubt this is the case with the 451 you have though.

the other thing to check is the gears themselves... some are plastic so check that they are not cracked from the outside to the center of the shaft... sometimes these little gears break that way and they open up under load and cause the gear mesh to change making squeaking sound... same goes for any gear shaft mounting points (the holes on the upper and lower portion of the gear section holding the intermediate gear set shaft). Any cracks there can also potentially cause those symptoms.

this one does feel tighter than the other two when rotating it

Has anyone had one of these making that noise and still use them with no problems or is it done .

I did a trade deal with a member for this heli with these in it

Yeah he knew he was giving you crap... they all know what they have. That’s why I don’t do trades nor buy used electronics anymore.

Hi!; I have a Bls251 on the tail of my 700n..it does the chirpin thing only in cooler wheather..I've been running it for several yrs. now this way..the fact that it only does it in cooler wheather leads me to believe that a very slight dimensional change takes place due to temperature causing this sound; maybe the output shaft rubbing on the housing..I stopped worrying about it a couple of yrs. ago.

I do a great decending funnel!

That's been my experience as well.

These came in a heli I traded for and the one that made the noise had stopped working so I cand all 3 of them to the trash and I'm going to try to get new ones as soon as I can so for now I'm done flying for the rest of the season.
