FUTABA T18SZ
I have a R6308SBT FASST Receiver that I did link to my T18SZ TX and put into a gasser petrol helicopter and hovered it and started to go out in a large area when it did not respond to the sticks on the tx at that I got it down with out damage. I cannot find any information on compatibly rx, EG is it ok with the T18SZ/ R6308SBT? I have set this up on the table and it works ok with a solid green light on the RX via FASST MUTLI on the radio. At a loss! All the Futaba list the SBT is a no show.

Receivers, power supplies and some servos can be sensitive to the RF put out by the electronic ignition system or magneto systems. At least do a ground range check with the engine running; also change the receiver location and be scrupulous on the receiver antenna location and routing. The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

RADIO problems
Hi HELITOM, I have been told to put FERRITE rings on the servo leads and the power supply to the RX and that will stop the RF from getting into the RX and blocking the 2.4 g may be?

Electromagnetic interference...

It is always necessary to do extensive test on bench on Gasser.

Check cables... Try to run straight paths as possible.

Don't make coils with servo cables...

If failure remains, run ferrite rings on erratic servos...

Yeah - all of the above. I have also had problems on fixed wing gasoline powered aircraft with a spark plug cap being a poor connection and generating massive RF. Also make sure all grounds are solid. The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

And first of all... Never but never intented to hovering without range check test.

RF interference depend directly on RPM... So watch it!

G20Petrol
yes thank for that, and you are right, do a range check 100%. I did one today with the turbine and all good but the petrol I will run it with the motor running and no main blades on a range check! I will report back when I do this.
