Brand new esc with a new xnova 4525-560 in Goblin 630
During throttle calibration I only get 6 beeps for the number of cells with (2) 6 cells attached. And the heli flies like it is working off of 6 cells. No Power at all. The only differance I can see is the esc power lead is a EC5 connecting the batteries with a EC5 seriel adapter cable. During initial startup I only get 6 beeps. Is the seriel adapter cable causing the esc to only see 6 cells?

Tony, you asked a good question, what you left out was your knowledge base. With your current wiring are your sure you have it wired correctly? Do you have a volt meter? There could be a problem with the ESC, but without a wiring diagram it is hard to tell. You seem to have some doubt about the wiring yourself, that is the reason I am answering the way I am. Pics or a diagram would help. Did you buy this adaptor or make it yourself?

Attached are photos of the manual and how I wired it. The adapter was purchased. https://rc.runryder.com/gallery/104412/IMG_2527-.jpg

Tony Your pics are not clear, Just to make sure you were sent the correct adapter plug the batts into adapter and check the voltage from the adapter without it plugged into the esc

It sounds like you received a parallel adaptor rather than a series adaptor. There is just one subtle difference between the two. I am willing to bet that is where your problem lies. The only way to prove this is for you to test it with a volt meter or possibly an ohm meter, but that will not be as definitive. If you have an ohm meter it probably does volts also.

Yup , pictures are not clear enough.

I would agree that it’s probably a wrong adapter.....

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

Tony,
I looked at the pics in your gallery and you do in fact have a serial connector, so that is not your problem. I am assuming both of your packs show to be good. A volt check would still be good but it appears to be correct.

So I figured out that I do have a serial adapter and I have the proper voltage coming from the batteries. The loss of power at the moment appears to be an end point adjustment. But I still do not have the proper number of beeps when the motor initializes. I should get 12 beeps one for each cell and I only get 4. I should add that my FBL is a AR7200BX. I know the Beastx have some type of fail safe setting but is this the problem?

What is your voltage reading at the end of the adapter where it plugs into the ESC ??

In your original post you said you were getting 6 beeps.... has that changed now to 4 ??

One of my friends have same problema... He was soldering the connectors wrong... Positive and negative inverted... Check also voltages...

The adaptor seems to be OK... Not sure...

On the other side, HW esc could be in fail...

Have you checked the “factory” esc default settings or tried to manual program the esc for proper cells instead auto detect?

45v coming out of the adapter going into the esc. BEEPS I get 3 beeps at the being to indicate the motor initialized, 4 beeps instead of 12 for number of battery cells, then 1 final beep.

not to make you start over but did you calibrate esc to radio as step 2 in manual states?

45V ÷ 12S = 3.75V per cell unloaded.

Under load your cells could very well be dipping into ESC cutoff, if set (unknown value)

Should read at least 50V (4.17V) per cell unloaded and fully charged.

Are batts new?

Also revisit BeastX menu N, (governor) ensure its *OFF.
*default=no light

HW esc = dead meat

Take the chance and do a firmware upgrade...

the voltage math is all good if it was programmed, not just unboxed and plugged in, I think he needs to take it from the top.

Yes esc was calibrated several times
Esc shutoff set at 3v
Batteries are not new but several different packs were used
I will have to check the beastx menu N
A firmware update was performed, settings re-entered and recalibrated to radio.

ok ill do some more digging around, the beastx dosnt have anything to do with the esc recognizing the cell count IMHO, curios if your other heli in pic is using HW esc, if so possibly swap over for a test? which might eliminate the esc?

I was thinking the same thing. I have another heli with an Ikon and I got the same results. I do have an email into HW but it seems to take a fews days for a response.

Ok guys, I herd back from HW and they advised everything is operating correctly. The initial 3 beeps then 2 short and 3 long beeps followed by the final single beeps is correct. I want to thank everyone for their help and input. Its great to be able to reach out for help. Thank you.
