Hi all,
Hope everyone is well, I have been preparing to fly my zealous with Wren, For those who remember the zelous the uses a separate oil sump system that recirculates the oil using a pump power by a 1 Cell NiCad at 1.2V, this makes the pump turn nice and slowly to give lube.

I unfortunately forgot I had left the pump running and have discharged the NiCad too low, I managed to charge it in stages back up to 5000, but it seems to be suffering with he old memory effect, my charger wont discharge it for more than a minute, so I am wondering how you guys used to discharge a NiCad, I did think of connecting an old light low voltage bulb direct to batter to drain it. But was wondering if anyone else has a good tip..
Many thanks

Matt

That's one way.... but frankly, why bother ?? For the cost of one new cell I personally would not bother trying to revive that cell that most likely sustained damage from draining it to zero....

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

I use an old drill motor to discharge...
For the cost of a cell I would buy a rechargeable lithium. ..a123 type.

spending time, paying attention

Why bother Matt.
Totally agree, just get a new NiMh cell - not even worth taking a chance.
Costs bugger all as well !!!
