I guess I could just figure it out when I get to the field. But, I've only ever flown CY30 in my 91HZ.

CY has a 23% oil package.

I just picked up a case of rotorrage 30%, but it only has a 21% oil package.

What does the lower oil content do to my mixture? Thinking to myself, a lower oil content means more methanol. More fuel means I should lean it out a bit from what I'm running now to keep the air mixture consistent?

Or do I have myself all bass-ackward as usual?

if it ain't broke, break it.

Just send it lol. See how the engine sounds. I switch back and forth from RR 30 to CP 30. Whatever I can get the cheapest!

Why the switch?
Price. CY went up to $42/gallon. Buddy sold me a case of RR for $110. Couldn’t pass it up.

So, anyone care to answer the question?

if it ain't broke, break it.

I would plan to tune as required but your logic is correct. With less oil there is more fuel in your fuel and all things being equal, you will have to lean the motor with less oil.

It's July here in Mississippi (and probably everywhere else) and it's 95F and ridiculously humid. There is no air in the air and I'm having to lean my motors every weekend. The motor makes no power and the blades don't make any lift. All the pop is out of my toys. If I cared enough I'd pull a head shim out. Being fundamentally lazy I think I'll just live with it 'till fall. Hey, maybe I'll mix up a "Summer Blend" of 40% nitro. Leave the head shims alone and up the nitro.

"Well, nothing bad can happen now."

It gets ungodly hot here as well. 105 I think today. But, unlike the gulf coast (where I spent my first 20 years) it actually cools down here at night. And, it’s very dry.

If I get out to the field by 8am I can fly for 3-4 hours before it hits 90. So, I’m only in 2 clicks from my winter settings.

I imagine it’ll be a little sluggish this weekend when I switch fuels. I mainly wanted to make sure I was ok leaving it as in and preparing to lean out a bit, rather than the other way around.

Thanks for the reply.

if it ain't broke, break it.

Fuel
VP 30% heli is the best. I switched over from Cool Power 30%. Supply constraint issues.

I tried CY and RR, power is there but can't keep my engines cool enough.

Ran 2 tanks through it yesterday. two clicks leaner on the high end and it was as before. couldn't tell the difference (which is a good thing)

if it ain't broke, break it.
