I really don't understand the people that do this protesting, closing down major highways and streets.
Even if the government could step in clean up the ghettos and provide jobs, do they really think that the gangs in Chicago are going to give a damn,. Those gangs don't want to work and obey gun laws.
The protesters claim they are trying to draw attention to the problems of Chicago, as if everybody in the world doesn't already know that Chicago is full of shootings and many other crimes.
Mass protests never solve any problem, it usually causes more problems, such as property damage and even loss of human life when a protest turns into a riot.
Well I vented my peace.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Well at least they are going to do the protest at the safest place in Chicago, a freeway. If they did the protest in downtown Chicago it would be a blood bath.

The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

Ya, you really think so. The mass shooting and deaths happen way outside the hart of the city.

Chicago is a big place. Only a very small part of the city is to blame for most of the killing.

GOT FBL?

You have no way of understanding this because you are sane...it will never compute in your brain.

The problem that possibly many of these protesters don't own up to is that too many people live by the "not my child" mentality. You know someone else did it. Instead of owning up to their parenting responsibility towards their fellow citizens. It's called teaching your children manners & respect for their community. It's not someone or a group of people coming into the neighborhood & committing the shootings. Another problem is that they're not embarrassed & should be.
Ex. I use to live in the South Bronx & took the train to work in lower Manhattan. It was embarrassing to me to see the transition of the landscape/ business environment from 1 place to the next as I worked in the garment section rubbing shoulders with bigwigs "Wallstreet" & I obviously wasn't. So they have to get embarrassed & stop blaming guns for the problems they've foster

How'd that march against gun violence work out for Chicago this past weekend, "Four men were killed and 23 people were wounded by gunfire in Chicago over the weekend". (quote from today's Chicago Tribune)

Looks like Chicago might not be a good place to marching in.
