Ikon v2
Can't get the tail wag to go away.
It seems non responsive to gain settings.
I have replaced the servo and double checked servo settings.
The mechanical parts are good.
I have tried moving the ball link outwards and inwards.

Does it need vibration damping ,
The logs don't show any excess vibration.

Is this an issue that just started to happen ?? Or, new build or rebuild, etc....

Have you tried replacing the mounting pad ??

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

If everything is slop free and moves super smooth I would check the build order of the tail blade grips. If you have the thrust bearing races reversed, big hole to the outside, you will have a tail wag you will never be able to tune out.

Check damping tape.
Put another layer to see response...
You probably need a softer damping tape.

When I had the tail get tight when spinning, took forever to troubleshoot... but the servo did get hot when hovering. Guess from it stalling or just working so hard. That's what gave it away that something was different when spooled up as opposed to bench testing.

Have you checked the monitor screen on the transmitter to see that the gain channel is actually changing when you try changing the gain?

+1
I wouldn't overthink this one too much. I don't think there is anything wrong with your equipment. Just sounds very much like you may be simply plugged into the wrong channel. Not sure what Tx you are using, but I believe gain is channel 5 for JR/Spectrum radios, but you have to go through the setup menu to select it from GEAR to GYRO for it to function correctly. You can also use an open AUX channel as long as it has multiple points. It may be something similar for other brands as well. Good luck.

The gains changing show in the software. Maybe try rate mode to see if wag is still there?

The values show in the Tx software or in the FBL unit's software? What values are showing and do they change if you do them remotely through the Tx? If you change the values manually through the unit, does it reflect on your Tx screen also?

I think we are getting close. Once we confirm it is not a software issue, then we can look at the mechanical setup next.

When checking the events log I get output limit reached for aileron elevator and rudder

Beginning to think I have the wrong controller for a 600N

No, your controller is probably fine; controllers are pretty much universal. I don't know the history of your controller...maybe it was taken out of another heli and put in your 600N or maybe it was brand new. But here's what it sounds like to me. Your controller's initial setup is either incomplete or was never accomplished at all.

If you are getting log messages saying "output limits reached" then that means that your controller probably was never programmed to learn your servo's travel limits as part of the initial setup. It's literally the first thing that's done when setting up a new FBL controller on a new machine. Without it, your controller has no idea where the center points are or what travel ranges it has to work with. As a result, your gyro function is significantly degraded.

Best option at this point? Clear out all your settings and set your controller back to default and start the initial setup from the ground up. Honestly, it sounds like it was never done to begin with, which is why you are struggling with it now.....simple fix and doesn't cost you anything but a few minutes of your time.

It is a new controller. I did a factory reset And redid the setup from 0.
I am still getting the errors output limit reached. On rudder aileron and elevator

I have icons and brains installed on my other helicopters with out issues.

I sent an email to MSH.USA to see if they know.

Until then I'll try an older ikon to see.

Hmmm.....it could be a faulty unit or you may be missing an important detail. Unfortunately, I fly a different brand of controllers on my helis, but I do know a few guys who run Ikons and the core program is basically the same across the board minus the proprietary interface stuff.

In your case, I really feel like we are missing something simple here. Troubleshooting this down for you is what needs to happen next...if I could just get my hands on it. But since I can't, I can only go by what you tell me.

Have you checked your pulse width settings? It may be set incorrectly.

What kind of wag does it have? A fast consistent wag, fast random twitching, slow consistent (1-2 wags a second) or slow random? Can you get a video of it doing it?

60% of the time, it works every time!

It had a fast and wide tail wag.
> what I have done since posting.
Factory reset of the controller.
Re assembled complete tail drive including the blade grips.
Swapped tail servo.
Changed tail blades
Verified tail servo links at 90°.
.
Now I am waiting on a auto rotation gear to arrive ..
I don't usually have any problems with setup but this one is odd

Does anyone else have issues with nitro and ikon .
