I have both 2 Thunderpower lipo sticks Lightning Series 10S (2 X 5S) 5000 mAh and a Thunderpower TP1430C charger that does not work anymore.

I used to charge my lipo sticks at once in series as the manual indications, but because the charger does not work anymore, I am planning to charge in parallel with two lipo chargers.

In order to achieve this, I am considering to re-solder the main leads the following way (#1 with #1 and #2 with #2 in below image).

Should that work OK?

Which lead corresponds to Group A and which lead corresponds to Group B balance connectors?

Any help is welcome as I can’t fly my RC helicopter anymore until I resolve this problem.

Ricci.

First you would need a TP balance lead to JST-XH connector
- unless you re solder the balance leads

Use a voltage meter to find 15v or so
- the discharge lead are in series

Hi Scott,

Yes, the main lead is in series, 5S + 5S, but with the new configuration I am planning, the lipo would have 2 main leads that I will be able to charge in parallel with a duo charger.

In other words, I will be charging in parallel and discharging in series (when flying).

For discharging, I will use a Y cable for connecting the 2 X 5S in series.

That is my original question, Is this new connection configuration OK (as photo shown below)? should it work (charging in parallel)?

Cheers,

Ricci.

- Yes, it'll be OK
- Concept is to be able to charge and fly
- We are able to do that with what you have described
