That's a tough one. Roban down mixes their paint colors and they don't have any paint codes to provide, nor can they sell you the paint. I've had real good luck taking my fuses down to an autobody paint supply store. They use a scanner on the painted surface and determine the paint code. Then they mix it right up and it's normally spot on.

Roban paints:

1) Go here: http://www.scaleflying.de
2) Change language from German to English using the drop-down menu
3 Navigate here: Main page » Fuselage Spare Parts » 600size » 10ml 2K Paint

Use the drop-down to select from a variety of gray paints. I'm not sure which one you need, but one of the 4 grays they have should work.

You could also email them and ask. They could very well know exactly which one you need.

yes I have been to scale flying and emailed them several times without any response from them
it looks to me that they have dropped this version of the 212 and seem not to be interested in customer support hope not

Slovenia ... somewhere in Europe

MyPosts All Forum Topic
there are TWO sites...
one is .com (used to be RC Aerodine and Cliff was never too good with answering the emails)
the one suggested is a .de based in Europe with world wide shipping....

the main distributor in USA is motion RC now... you should try with them. I'm sure between the European site and the new distributor in the US they will sort you out.

Just to give you an idea how good the paint scanners are these days. Here's a pic of my Bell 407 rotor head button I painted with a brush. The store scanned the tail fin pictured and the paint came out spot on.

Thanks! I think the paint shop calls it a single stage automotive paint. I just tell them I need touch up paint and they mix it up and put it in a small container for me. It brushes on real nice with a good quality paint brush.

Thanks I have a paint shop near me I will give them a try see what the results are.
I finally got in touch with scale flying had a conversation with them reference the paint for the huey and they said the paint is on the website and gave me a link to it but there was no reference to the uh-1n for the greys they had so I asked them for the paint numbers for the uh-1n and the answer was we don't know that we will have to go to the factory and ask them.

How do they expect us mear minions to find what we want on the website if the shop don't know themselves
anyhow I am waiting for scale flying to get back to me hopefully with good news

Hopefully they can get you some paint for your model. When I asked about getting paint or the paint codes, Michael who is the owner of Roban replied stating "we downmixed colors ourselves, so there is no paint code reference that we can pass along to you. Unfortunalty we are unable to airship paints from overseas. Please see if your local paint supplier can mix down a color that closely matches the colors you need".

If all else fails, you should be able to get that shop close to you to make some touch up paint for you. Good luck!

after talking to scale flying I managed to get them to email roban and the came back with the information I needed to order my paint the only problem is scale flying don't stock the paint I need
these are the colour codes for your Huey 36375 and 36320
We can order them but this takes time because it is not so easy to get the paint here. Not possible to send it by airfreight only by container.
so I can order the paint but it will be on a slow boat from china
better than nothing at least scale flying are very helpful

I tried my local paint shop but they were not very helpful pretty dam sarcastic and not very helpful at all on my way out I noticed a tin on the side that said attitude bin that says it all I won't be going back there soon

Did your local paint shop offer to use their scanner on the fuselage?

no he did not offer I asked if he could scan the paint and he replied that it probably would not work on it as the scanner needed a metal background to scan correctly
so I asked him to try and he said reluctantly I will get the scanner when he returned with the scanner he slapped it on top of my doghouse cover and pushed down very hard on it this took me by surprised and I was waiting for the cracking sound in the gelcoat saying if you break it you will be paying for it I was furious with him.

I find this sort of customer service disgraceful and I should have asked to see the manager but was just pleased to get out of there with my doghouse still in one piece

Wow that's terrible service. Maybe there's another shop you can take it to.
