It's no secret that for the last 17 years RunRyder has been primarily a helicopter site. Many of us here also enjoy other areas of the hobby but all of us here do at least some helicopter building and/or flying.

That is up until now. Soon, others will joint RunRyder that have no interest in helis. There is a portion of the modeling community that has little interest in model helicopters and as RunRyder evolves, it will soon have modelers signing in that will not frequent the Heli forums.

So, to the question - are you here for something other than helicopters? Who will be the first member here that is interested in watercraft, land-craft or fixed-wing and isn't interested in helicopters?

I signed up long ago because of helis, but I do have boats, cars/trucks and planes too.

I have just moved so no weekends to go R/C yet, but soon...

nope.. thats why I like RR (and to some degree HF). I understand bringing the whole RC community under one roof so to speak. But Im not sure it will be successful. most who have RC as a hobby tend to concentrate on one particular type, Helis, Planks, wheeled or Boat. Rare is the individual that has more than two that actually participates in them equally.

I just dont see alot of participation from the Boat and car guys... honestly what is there to learn or figure out? they are not that complicated, other than tuning what would the car and boats talk about? My boat floats funny? my car drifts left?

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

My guess is that you have never tried an RC Car. Just like a helicopter, that will/could fly when it's "close enough" in the settings, a car will move even when they are all out of whack. They have infinitely more adjustment for differing track conditions. Toe, caster, squat, tire compounds, ect. By hanging out with the car crew I was able to learn some of that stuff. Now if you only race on 20% humidity dirt tracks.....and never touch asphalt...... It's like flying thru summer air

I have a fleet of helicopters and several airplanes. Just one car tho. I am glad to see RR expanding to other sections of the hobby.

I think there are plenty of people who participate in more than one aspect of RC. Sure, I don't spend equal time on all types, but I have and at least occasionally run a bit of everything. Example being I usually take a boat when I go to a float plane event, or sometimes I keep a car in the trailer in case I decide it's too windy or I just don't feel like flying for whatever reason.
