I guess people simply are not interested in RC toys anymore... Even drones have tapered off. See more professional use, but recreational has definitely leveled off.

the new trend is to go out with your friends and everyone stare into their phones...

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

Due to this millennial being addicted to his smartphone, I can provide some useful input. At global 3D two weekends ago, I spoke with the compass guys. They told me that compass is indeed done, but a new company is on the way.

Conspiracy has it that one of the new heli manufacturing companies that has gobs of money flowing from the ears (insert new Asian company here) bought them out, or paid them off to kill the brand, or unnecessary market competition.

All conspiracy, I'm not involved, so I have no proof this actually happened.
BUT...
It's what I heard from a land far far away.

If thats the case they spent money on a diseased and dying milk cow... To buy out a brand that was dying anyway was stupid... and absolutely genius by the seller.

The market will continue to shrink to pre 2000 levels if not less it seems. We younger Heli flyers are aging into the old planker guys we used to make fun of and honestly I dont see very many younger guys/girls getting into RC of any kind. Even drones really dont interest people much anymore... One day at Best Buy I was watching my son play on the PS1 they had... down the way the aisle that had all the drones was easily visible. This was on the 4th of July mind you so they had all sorts of sales, so they did have people walking around.... and not one of them during the 30 minutes standing there even walked through the isle much lass even glanced at a drone.... not even the Cheap "toy" ones.

What isle was the busiest? the phones, the OLED TVs, and the Apple crap.

A few month ago I went to Office Max to get printer paper, walking past the clearance Isle they had FPV drones on serious markdown... then the other Day I needed a UPS for my WiFi... and those same Drones were still there.

Ive been to Austin Texas to go to Frys Electronics several times through the year, often just to go looking around... next door there is a Hobby Town that I also visit. Alot of the RC plane kits have dust on them. They dont even sell anything helicopter related larger than 200 class (Blade stuff only). The drone offering have also diminished...

I love it. Kids will be in their late 20's, I'm predicting, before they realize they must upkeep the world too. I'm only 23, but I still work. Lucky enough to be separated from the do-nothing-unimaginitive crowd.

A very Apocaliptic view...

Market... Economy... New toys... Competition...

In my town, we had a very rude economical situation but... As a church fellow, every Saturday we spend the day flying around... Burning glow, gas and rum...
