Has anyone tried this? It seems like it should be an easy drop in as the mechanics are the same. I ordered a 330X receiver BLH4002 and stuck it on a 450X. The forward servo is reversed as well as the cyclic gyro function. Can’t figure it out.

Figured out the servo connections and reversing etc. Had to switch the Ail, L cyc, and aux 1, R cyc, servos. that straightened everything all out. Using the stock 330X TX setup from spektrum and just modified the Throttle and Pitch curves to the stock 450X settings. Everything bench tests well, but when I power up the swash goes nuts as if the gyro gains are too high. I tried turning the P, I, and D gains down, but no improvement. Any ideas?

Removed the main blades to eliminate a main rotor vibration issue, but swash still goes spastic when spinning up. Going to remove tail blades next. If that doesnt work ill try remounting receiver with thinner tape. I used soft 3mm thick Futana tape.

remounted the 636 and was able to fly it into a hover. still some vibration in the tail though. going to check belt tension and replace the tail blades next. At least I have it flying now.

Still waiting to get back to states to get new tail blades. Been messing with it while 8n Japan. dialed the cyclic gains down from default 100 to 90. Flys a little better. Going to try cyclic p gain at 80 next and test fly. Really need to get fresh tail blades though.

Never got the 636 to work perfect in the 450X. AR7200/7210 set up is so much easier and flies much better anyway. Started doing some light acro with my 230S with 636 and although the 230 is super stable with the 636 in sport flight it is very inaccurate while doing acro. The 450X loops and rolls with beautiful precision. So, what I have learned from this experiment is dutch the 636 and stick to AR7200/7210; well worth the added expense.
