Just back to Heli`s after many years away.
The 450 is just about eight size for me space and cost wise.
While looking to buy see the new 470 size then a mention about spares for the 450 getting low even clone spares and mention of the 450 being scraped/discontinued.
Any info please,dont want to buy a lemon

Are you asking if the Align 450 is available verses the longer 450L? I don't see a lot of information about the shorter 450. Align seems to be pushing their 450L Dominator. I don't know if the 450 is discontinued but there are enough clones and the helicopter has been around long enough that finding parts for the 450 shouldn't be a problem. http://www.align.com.tw/helicopter-en/trex450/

Beyond Align and the mentioned Tarot, the Oxy helis seem very popular. I personally don't own one but they seem well respected and parts are readily available from established suppliers. https://www.amainhobbies.com/oxy-he...y4-325p/p762605

I have an old 450 Pro that I keep in the air, but the cost/availability of spares is a problem. The 470 is a HUGE improvement. The price is really appealing and it performs amazing. Skip the 450 (and clones) and do yourself a favor and get this instead. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

First off the Oxy,i think its overpriced and in the UK very rare.
I did not realise the 45O with the L was different than the "old" 450.
The 450L kits I have seen use 6s ,I really wanted to stay with 3s. Is the 450L only meant for 6s?
If so I am probably best going with the 470L, The plastic version,just read its very good but get the metal swash and ditch the plastic.

I owned every 450 from align 450se. I would agree to skip now the 450 size and go with 470LT. Personally I would not get the plastic or belt version. I had the belt and ran into few issues. The TT version is amazing. Also there is no need for upgrades except I would recommend replacing the ESC with HobbyWing Plat V4 60A. Servos are amazing. I like them better then MKS.

I am running 4S on my Dominator and the speed is just right for me. I am not a 3D freak so the head speed on 4S is just right for me.

Easy enough , all I did was buy a 4 cell and stuck iit in there and away I went, no pinion change or nothing else special. Try it you will like it. The 450L.
