Is it a good kit as far as Thunder Tiger go,s just the belt drive kit brand new in the box for 450. The last one in stock, no motor or servo,s I don,t think the blades come with it. It is a fly bar model and looks real good. I think it is 120 ccpm and would be hard to mount into a TT scale body due to the swash rear support tower. doe,s any one think this is a good buy?

$450 in US dollars, I wouldn't even give it second though... I would pass and not look back.

No, this is Aussie dollars, real money, and you cannot buy this kit in Australia any more, only Align kits, and Hirobo are hard to come buy, so the helicopter kits from yesteryear are no longer, only electric toys from kids toy shop,s So Kavan, Graupner, Schluter,Kalt,Morely,MFA DuBro,JR and Thunder Tiger, all gone, so where can you go to a hobby shop in Melbourne/Australia, and buy a helicopter kit! only from O/S.

Sounds like one crash then you throw it away. Kind of like the X50E I have. I had to glue a part because I can no longer buy it here in the USA.
I don't crash often because I just fly, no fancy tricks so I don't lose too many. But I do consider parts availability important.

A recently discontinued model will still have some parts supply, TT parts have been hard to come by and continually harder.

Simple answer is look for a part supplier first. Spindle, main shaft, boom, if you can't get a few of those I would think hard about starting out with this kit. It is a great kit. It is very light and a great flyer but if you have to bench it because you had a hard auto and needed a $20 boom I would be mad. There might be a way to cut booms for another brand to fit but if that doesn't work I wouldn't buy a new one now at full price. I got mine before part supplies were in question and now have one extra spindle, shaft, and boom on standby but if I didn't I would stay away from it now.

Ok Brian, I will leave it just the idea of the kit that was the good part, but for now I will start making my own RC helicopters from wood and bit,s and the old school with a fuss and ply wood and see what I can come up with or just go back to model trains and cards, and a beer or two!

There is a fellow here on RR that will buy the obsolete stuff because it’s a “good deal” and then they stuff just winds up being a “shelf queen” or re-sold down the line .

I won’t divulge his name to protect the guilty but I can tell you that he is a “newbie” ....

Don’t fall into that trap ....ie, buying stuff that you know is not supported just because it’s a “good deal” .....

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....
