I am looking for a qualified helicopter builder to disassemble and clean a century bell 47 and make needed repairs, dissemble a century hawk pro and clean and reassemble and a vario benzine with a wren mw-54 turbine. My model room had a lipo fire and the bell 47 got the worst of it. The others have fire ext powder all over and needs cleaning before it starts rusting. I need someone who can disassemble and reassemble. Must have turbine experience. Thanks, best to reach me at john5796@bell south.net located 9 miles se of Atlanta Ga. Tia.

Sorry to hear of your fire. The ABC chemicals pits aluminum rather badly, so a good cleaning may be too late. You really need to start cleaning it off immediately. Another thing that works is to use a CO2 extinguisher. It is more expensive, but it does not cause the chemical damage.

I know, a day late and a dollar short. Maybe it can help others. Most turbine guys have the proper extinguisher.

I actually have a small halon that I carry in my back pocket when I fly the turbine. I keep it in my transmitter case when not flying. But for my home I have the 18 lb ABC in each bedroom 1 in the kitchen 3 in the basement, and several others, I even had a 2 lb and a 1 lb on the bench but grabbed the 18 pounder from the hall closet. I was in fire out mode more than model saving mode. I hope cleaning will take care of it,I know what you mean about corrosion it attacks the metal fast.
