China steals our tech by hacking

Why can't our most sensitive info be held offline or internal? I feel like Uncle Sam is beyond stupid.

You would think that wouldn’t you. But they are stupid enough to link data sources to other systems. A closed source that requires physical presence to access would be the key to security, with no communication channels to outside world. No WiFi, Bluetooth, DSN, hardline phone, cellular ... nothing. But then what good is data if you can’t access it. Major military contractors are the primary sources being hacked and it is because they require links to others. The moment your on the web, you expose yourself to attackshowing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

We do the same type of snooping on China (and other countries).
And on our own citizans, just type in something about assassinating the pres and it may get you a visit from the men in black.
Somebody is going to lose their clearance.
I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

China has earned a terrible reputation for copying and counterfeiting. They even screw each other over it.

My company sent a few machines to a customer there. Fast forward 10 or 15 years and now there are more than 15 companies counterfeiting our stuff. They even pull pictures off our website, and couterfiet our company. I would not be suprized if there are not at least 4 Spiffs there answering the phone saying " Harro, I Spiff how can I help you?"

When it comes to product or information theft, no country on earth compares.

true.. but none of them have anything worth stealing in terms of technology. The only reason we're snooping on them is to find out what they stole.

Hilly has already proved that ain't necessarily so.
The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.
