I'm looking carefully at a Trex 470.

But one thing that occurs to me about the safety argument - now I'm not saying that this is good progress, but because my aging eyesight is not what it once was I would naturally have a tendency to fly a smaller heli (like a 450) closer to me so I can see it properly. So although it won't do as much damage to me as a 550 is it more likely that it is going to hit me.

Getting back into helis and coming to terms that my Raptor 50 is of little use any more, possibly only good for breaking down for spares.

I did consider an electric conversion, but didn’t seem practical to spend a considerable sum to do so and still be stuck with the prospect of crossing my fingers and hoping the spare parts I need are available at a reasonable price even for a minor crash.

What size battery do you have slung underneath.

6s 22.2v 5000mah 40c. 890kv motor, 90 amp Castle Talon, Thunder Tiger wide cord blades. All up weight 8.26lbs. 90% flat throttle curve, 6 min run time. I could run longer but after 6 mins, its time to come down.
