News media can't manage English ?
Texas man shoots dead ex-wife's three children, boyfriend, police say

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crim...ocid=spartandhp

Is it just me, or is this headline really a mess up of the English language. So the children were already dead when he shoots them ? I had to re-read the headlines twice or more to get the horrible news correctly in my mind.
I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

I've read worse, but it was clear to me . . . "Shoots dead" seems to be an equivalent to "kills" these days . . . Although since "shoots live" never really applies, it feels pretty redundant to me, but I guess "shoots and wounds" works as well. Myself, I'd have run with "shoots and kills" . . .

Even looking at it from your perspective, the ex-wife would be dead and have three live children . . . ". . . dead ex-wife's children . . " makes no statement as to the health of the children.

If nothing else, this proves what I have been seeing and saying for years - America, as a whole, is becoming more and more incompetent with it's mother tongue by the minute, and sadly, many either just don't care or are too lazy to make any effort . . .
Friends don't let friends become electrotarded . . . .
