I don't have an issue with someone wanting a little added insurance. But, the fact remains that if you're not inspecting your links regularly to notice if they're loose and worn out, then you won't notice when it fails completely and your backup is no longer your backup.

I've only been flying 15 years. But, the only ball link failures I've ever had--from sub micro all the way up to 700-class-- are from them splitting. And, the washer won't help with that.

It's not necessary.

You can buy alternate links for the raptor and worst case you can just change out the balls.

The washer has its own issues because it can cut into the link if your not careful.

Do a good preflight, clean your helis and replace loose links.

BTW Raptor links suck...do yourself a favor and replace them all with high end aftermarket links.
