I waited so long in my carrer to fly align I always steered away cause everyone had one. I wanted to be different I've flown alot of brands and those brands put me thru the ringer to keep them flying. I finally broke down my buddy gave me a 600n LE for free so what the hell. I've been sold ever since. Align IMO are just plain easy to setup and build and fly great and take a beating. I got so sick of wrenching more then I flew when I got a align the table switched. Now I replace things even when there not bad just cause I feel it's time. The ONLY WAY for our hobby to move forward is for manufacturers to take the leap and try new things if they didn't we would still be flying fixed pitched if that. I think most of all helis out now are great machines unlike 10 or so years ago. Align great as someone's always got one at the field to help you parts are everywhere ect... fly what you like and don't bash what you don't like we as consumers in our little community are all on the same team here.

Any idea if the new 600xn canopy would fit old 600n with minor modifications?

My good old 600n is going strong, but the canopy is pretty beat up.
Man, I like this new shape and colors

I still have serval older trex 600 nitros, best heli for the $$. so cheap to fly them now. Align is asking too much $$ for the new 600XN but maybe someday I can get a used one reasonable. I just picked up a 700XN so looking forward to flying it.

I agree when it only take a couple bucks to separate the 6from the 7 it's to much. I'll keep flying my 600dfc it's cheap flies awesome. They come off that price a bunch I would buy.

I don't like the direction Align is taking.
Their prices are increasing and there quality is decreasing.

If you work it out they want you to buy the combo and it does work out so much cheaper saving hundreds if you buy the full combo, but some may just want the kit which is just to much.

the pricing is reflective to a lack of alternative models available from other brands
if we had more choice the price tag would be more wallet friendly

I still prefer the older LE fbl
This upgraded setup did cost alot more than the new nitro combo.

Icur so what did you end up doing? Sorry I wasn't following.... I just got a new LE KIT from my Sponsar at my request as I love the 600n as is. I got a 700xn to but it's just a big brother. I have crashed a few times and the washout arms and pitch links are always ruined or bent that's why I'm such a dfc head fan so simple...

Is anyone flying a 600XN yet? My last "new" 50 was a Raptor Titan and I'm thinking it is time to try something newer.

I might own one already if I could find just a kit - not a combo. I have nothing against the combo but I'd like the option of slaughtering my heli and just buying a new kit (minus the combo). Call it an ultimate crash kit. Anyone seen just a kit? Got a link? What's the price?

There IS NO KIT VERSION only 2 availuable one with servos and with servos and motor. The heli itself is very nice I do t ow. One but do own the 700xn which the same heku just smaller. The electronics that come in the kit are the best align has to offer. The servos are basically worth more then the kit would be.

Funfly
I had the opportunity to look over and fly the 600nx this weekend.
Comparing it to the older LE version there are many updates.

My suspicion about the intermediate gears were confirmed both the 700nx & 600nx developed wear and play "gear noise".
To some this is not enough to concern them, however should these gears hit the right harmonics, I would expect other parts to be affected. Gyro, Clutch, bearings.

Is the new one better ? Mostly yes if you don't mind the intermediate gears.

I was thinking of getting the combo, if you had to buy the parts seperately it would cost a fortune, full combo would be half the price, I would wait to find out about these gears the XN model has, has more upgrades yes but I cant see it flying any better than the previous 600 models DFC/FL head.

This is a big reason RC helis aren't as popular as they were 10 years ago. No need to buy and try a new heli anymore. That's why the manufacturers started selling different size helis for a bit of variety and to sell more helis, but even a 550 flys similar to a 700 when FBL! My opinion of course, YMMV.

So, thanks for that Mikado! . Yes it was great and very exciting (if you knew how to take off correctly!) but little do we know it would aid in the gradual demise of the hobby.

I personally have ventured back to flybarred to rekindle my lost enthusiasm for the hobby, and so far it's working.... until I crash!

60% of the time, it works every time!
