I recently acquired a scalehouse Bell 412 from Steve (heliheadcase).
It's the same model used in the scalehouse advertisement and converted to electric with clutch by Steve.
I am detailing it to a more scale detail form as well as adding the navigation lights which include the doghouse rotating beacon.

One question I need to resolve is the scale size of this fuselage. I emailed Jerry Hicks but not sure he will receive it if his email has changed.
Does anyone know what scale size this fuse is?
Thanks in advance!!

A couple more... Added non-skid to the current skids. A new set of high skids are being built in the meantime.

The full size length appears to be listed as 17 100mm, so you should be able measure the length of yours and divide it into 17100 to get the scale.

Thanks for the compliments! I still have quite a few scale bits I want to add to it especially new high landing gear.

Colin
Thank you very much. I’m on the road so when I get home I will try to figure out the scale.

Thank you Bill!! That’s what Jay and I came up with but needed verification since we were still in doubt.

Finally got to fly it and to say I was nervous after a long time not flying is an understatement
The electric motor with a clutch really gives it a turbine sound as you can hear at the beginning of the video.

I have done a little disassembly to add a tail stinger, nav lights, pitot tubes and make the nose removal via magnets as opposed to being bolted on as it is now. Will add some other scale bits like wipers, antennae, etc...

I wish this fuse had been in white so I could have added all the desired scale details before paint, but alas, it is what it is. But I am enjoying adding scale details to make this 412 look even better.
I decided to start last night with the tail stinger...

This 412 didn’t have functioning nav lights so decided to install some. I started with the doghouse light and installed a rotating beacon that I had in my spares box.
Before anyone comments that this model huey didn’t have a rotating beacon, turns out the owner of this 412 made a special order for the beacon

While on the doghouse I decided to add a scale like antenna as per the full size.

I also noticed some bits missing from the tailboom area. The 412 has black tail blades so I switched them out for some scale Painted blades. I also added the UHF or VHF (not sure which) antennae which go on each side of the tailboom.
