When surfing RR on your mobile device, the RR forums homepage now breaks to full width after off topics. This allows for a faster loading and shorter homepage.

Please Post Reply your thoughts and any insight.
To demonstration the new homepage break on your desktop change to Mobile mode. Click the top left icon and see "Format Display" options.

Something is not right...getting a floating page.

Being directed to an ad.

As if where I touch screen is way off higher.

Rebooting tablet just in case. This is new and only happens in this site.

Nope...that didnt work. I even reset...Samsung Tablet A

Happens in either desktop or tablet mode.

When I click on your last post, it opens four threads above.

If I click on 1st thread, it opens scorpion ad. Seems as if where I touch is out of sync.

Going to another forum see if I get same results.

Stay tuned.

Clicking the date in the last post column (with yellow corners) brings you to your last unread post. Or the topic's last post if you have never seen the topic.

This is the only place Im getting this anomaly.

No other apps or websites display this behaviour.

When I scroll down, page resets to beginning. I can even make page float away from screen center as if page is larger than what it is but get balck background. Even typing this is a quest. Have to use cursor arrows to reposition where I want to type.

Homepage now breaks...yes for me!
Something changed here. If im the only one, oh well, then nothing to worry about.

Heres a screenshot...desktop mode

Ok, tried with tablet held upright and it seems to work ok. I can now point and select with no issues as before.

So this new issue is when tablet is in landscape view and how I always have used it hands free since purchased with protector-cover in 2015. The protector-cover "kickstand" is for such view.

Maybe others can test in such view.

I cannot reproduce this on a Android phone or iPad tablet. Make sure you have cleared your browsing history (cached images and files). Try switching to Mobile mode to see any difference.

Released 4 days ago last Friday. It could be a Chrome bug. Try installing an older more stable version. I stopped using the bleeding edge developer version. Having better luck with the beta version.

I don't have option to revert.

Tablet has a "device maintenance" that clears, erases, scans, optimizes and or shuts down background running apps (calendar, weather,skype etc.). I checked manually for cache, history et all. I had even reset and rebooted. Lost all customized settings...no big deal.

***I don't seem to have problem in mobile mode landscape view but still there in desktop or tablet.***

If it's a chrome bug, it's only manifesting itself here.

I guess I will have to stick to mobile mode when using tablet for this site.

Maybe it will fix itself in next release.

Thanks for checking and prompt response as usual.

In Tablet mode try opening and closing the right side panel to see differences when changing orientation. I have looked into possible code fixes. I don't see any. The following view page source drives the issue (desktop or tablet)...
Side panel closed...
<meta name=viewport content='width=732'>
Side panel open...
<meta name=viewport content='width=927'>

I modified the CSS for tablet mode and removed the unessesary right most box shadows. Does this fix tablet mode?

Some small improvements
Now when I tap a link I sometimes get the one I wanted, but often it will open a link two or three rows above the one I wanted.

I still have scrolling issues.
When I scroll the page it will randomly return to the top of the page.
I can still scroll right or down and move page content almost completely off screen

I still have scrolling issues.
Your recent software update has thrown a wrench in the works. I have tested the issue on Chrome, Firefox and Safari. On an iPad, Android Phone and a Windows desktop. For me I have not seen anything but RR being displayed using using 100% of the devices screen width. With no horizontal scrolling available until I pinch and zoom in.

***The issue still persist in tablet landscape mode.***
FWIW...I dont:
-Use RR side window as it takes away from full width;
-Sign into chrome nor have changed any of its default settings;
-Use zoom or pinch other than for viewing photos when and if needed.

Sadly, it's only happening here and nice to know that I'm not the only one with the same reported issues.
