So as the topic states. I really want to start flying again. Last year I bought an amazing Synergy N7, plus all the bits to make it go. Well last year my life was going in one direction and unfortunately I concluded that there was no chance I could fly. I unloaded everything because it hurt to look at it just sitting unused. I still have a few small electric birds I can fly but, I crave the 700 nitro class. Plus my goodness Matt is still cranking out some amazing helicopters.

Well as life would have it, life switched gears again and now time and money have both presented themselves and I can fly. I used to be out almost EVERYDAY flying 10 years ago and I miss it bad.

So here's the question I face right now, I am hoping I can get some non-flame out responses. Ok, so with all AMA-DRONE-faa bull crap, I am concerned about making the investment again. Just to have the hobbie completely destroyed by the faa and there supporters because of the delivery/financial motivated, uneducated and careless "DRONE" pilots.

Most of the public flying fields out by me are county owned, so it would not take much for them to go away, overnight. Ok, I understand some have land to fly without much government intrusion, but if it gets bad enough the very weak rc heli industry would all but dry up. The hobbie would return to the heli dark ages.

So am I being overly cautious. Do I leap but in with both feet, do I wait patiently and see where the ducks land, or do I find a new hobby.

Thanks for all the help in advance.

GOT FBL?

Why over think things, if you want a heli to fly, buy one and go fly. Who knows what the future holds, the sun may crash into the earth tomorrow, so do what you want today.

There is no "patiently waiting" with anything involving the government....

I agree, buy and fly what you want and have fun......

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

I'm back flying, long time. 8 yrs no fly. I'm flying nitro this summer, made my mind up. And here it comes. I spent too much time learning how to do this to just let it go. Plus money,I didn't want to say anything about money but. I enjoy it ,that's what I am going to do for myself. As I don't really do anything else except go to work. And work.

I fly my helicopter in front of the police when they drive by. I do not give a damn what they think anymore.

Here is my reasoning, if the police are willing to throw 3 years of my life away helping them bust all the drug dealers. What really digs into me, 27 felonies reduced to probation.

I think it is time for us Americans to tell our state/feds to pound sand, as far as I am concerned, they are outlaws!

No idea what that means, sorry, but are you saying you had 27 felonies against you and they reduced the sentence to probation ?

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Okay, allow me to be more precise in wording and clarity!

The police came to me asking for my help to bust some drug dealers. I just happen to live right in the middle of this garbage town. Three years, I worked with the police busting drug dealers in my area. Lots of losers went to jail especially the one that lives across the street from me. This particular person obtained 27 drug felonies by selling to undercover officers 4 times, cell phone fraud 4 times, drug free zone 8 times....etc.

It took three years to bring down about 30 drug dealers, simply because felons have constitutional rights and it is hard to bring them down.

What i did not appreciate was that a person with 27 felonies was given an opportunity to work by being a snitch against others criminals. I WANTED this person in prison because he sold to high school, JR high and grade school kids drugs! Basically a person with no moral compass, didn't give a hoot if a kid died from his batch of drugs.

Here is a video of his RAID. (PM if you want it)

My point was.....go fly and stop worrying what the state/feds think. Law enforcement is not there to protect us but to collect money from us. This was my point. Make sense?

I am getting back on the subject okay?
