Update guys, as to what's going on with this rare 450x heli (My shelf queen). I was able to fit the Aluminum Elevator arm (Blue), and I replaced the landing skids with Align Blue ones. The main gear is now a toughened plastic one (Which has the gears ribs angled). But getting the blue one-way bearing hub in was a challenge, because it couldn't be pressed in by hand, so I had to protect it with masking tape, and using a socket.. Gently tap it in with a hammer, and it worked, as you can see..
But I did accidentally drop the heli, and the front of the bottom plastic plate broke off.. Lucky I had a same type and fitted it..
Now off topic. Some how during building 3 nice heli's to add to my fleet of cheepies that I have.. I have to finish building my gasser MT (34cc), and it's 32 inches long.. All the old plastic parts are being replaced with aluminum including the radio plate, tuned exhaust pipe and yes.. The truck will have front cable disk brakes (To stop it fast), as for engines piston.. It has 4 holes made to it, and is lighter too (All done by a CNC machine), so it'll rev higher.. Just like Nitro engines do (High quality Ceramic bearings are fitted to the stuffed crank (By me, and not cheap) and a Anti Blow Out Bearing Seal too (On the clutch side)...Plus a high performance carb too (Choke less.. But has fuel pump), so best to use high quality 2-stroke oil in the mix.. This truck will be heavy, so needs a powerful 2-stroke engine to get it moving fast (It's 2WD, and was a Duratrax Firehammer MT). Be warned, I will be looking to trade it for a gasser heli when finished (I'll be putting it in the trade forum)... Oh, One mod that I'll be doing, is adding 2 more shocks to the rear (Because of the weight).. You see the truck normally has only 2 shocks on the rear, and 2 on the front (Can't change the front to four shocks)..Just the back.. If your wondering, all the parts come from Germany (RC-Cars.DE)..Nice country, as I once used to live there (Berlin).. All they deal with is 1/5th scale Gassers.. Cars, Buggys and Monster Trucks.. On-road, and-off road (No air stuff). Oh, I forgot. On the piston (Above the ring), it has been slighly skimmed down, so the piston won't seize at high RPM (The company who sells the pistons has it done) Till they did that.. Their customers were having the pistons (that they bought) seize solid in the end (HEH) and $50 down the drain (Piston couldn't handle higher RPM's than normal engine range).. But not now, since they skimmed a bit off all the new pistons that they sell (Above the ring) Problem was solved.. no more of their pistons that they sell are seizing (Customers are now happy) , and I have bought 2 of these $50 pistons, and one for my 30.1cc engine (It was going to be in my truck)
You know what.. I was thinking that a engine with this modified piston is like having a high performance head, so would be great in large heli, and you'll be able to swing blades that turbines use eh?? They also do these pistons for 30cc engines too..
