Guys
Im trying to set up my governor on a Castle HV and I don't know how to calculate gearing ratios to input into my Castle link. I have the competition 700, big belt, with 23 tooth pinion.
Thanks a bunch!
Phil

I believe there are 214 teeth on the main gear and 23T 9.3:1 Ratio
as in the manual,p21.

If you want to confirm the manual's gear ratio, keep in mind the Goblins use a 2 stage pulley and it is easy to calculate the true GR.
Calculating the gear ratio is simple:
(stage1GR) x (stage2GR) = GR

I will use my Goblin 700 Black Nitro as an example:
stage 1:
motor pulley = 28T
drive pulley = 60T
60 / 28 = 2.14:1 gear ratio

Stage 2:
Drive pulley = 19T
Main mast pulley = 68T
68 / 19 = 3.58:1 gear ratio

Compound gear ratio
2.14 x 3.58 = 7.66:1

On the eGoblins, just replace the stage 1 gear ratio with the correct values for motor pinion and the drive pulley.
I think stage 2 is the same.

Believe 1/2 of what you see and none of what you hear.
Fake News will be the downfall of our Republic!
