I'm trying to connect a Castle ice 50 and gryphon GSR 3030 to a skookum 540. I removed the ESC's red wire and plugged it into the throttle channel. Then I connected the plug from the ubec into the swash A (spare) port on the sk540. When I connect the battery nothing happens. When I disconnect the ubec from the sk540 and power up I get a white light on the ubec.

I will assume you have all the plugs correctly oriented?
Have you tried a different port?

Yeah mate, I've checked and double checked the polarities of the plugs, and I've tried on different ports too. When I plug the bec into the ex-led port I get a solid white light in the bec, but even I plug it into the sw-a port it doesn't light up.

I'm thinking maybe the bec is burnt up. What can I do to just go back to using the internal bec in the ESC? Just cut the bec wires that go into the ESC? I can't remember why I even got an external bec in the first place.

The internal BEC on the old Pheonix ICE 50 is rated at 5a max.
That's probibly why you cut the red wire on the ESC and used an external BEC.
If you think you only need 5a or less, the you can reconnect the red lead and use it.

Do you have any way to test the voltage(if any) coming from the BEC?

Yeah, I just looked through my post history and saw that I got the bec because I was getting brown-outs on 5V, so removing the bec is not really an option, in afraid.

Nope. Don't have a volt meter.
