First of all don't even try and put this on me. I'm neither a Congressman nor a Senator, I'm only one voice out here no different than you and furthermore don't assume I've done nothing and frankly it's none of your business what I do about it.
Heard you loud and clear!

Sorry if you misread what was a simple question given you have no faith on dealing with senators and perhaps you could have directed me or others into other options given you are very voiceful about your hate of drones in this public forum and it's your thread to boot.

If an open discussion was not your intention to perhaps find and or share viable solutions as a group with common interest, then so be it and thats on me. I shall instead seek other positive avenues with potential options. Thanks for the original post anyways as it was ahead of the AMA email.

In the meantime, I will have a beer and watch some Netflix while waiting for dinner as its less stressful at this moment. Mmm, I smell porkchops.
Cheers!

I didn't misread anything. Your response was to the point. We've been having an open discussion but as far as solutions are concerned what do you see on the horizon? The same situation comes up year after year and the same solution that AMA offers is to write letters. So far it's worked, sort of. Every time 336 comes around we lose a little bit more and you want to keep this positive? We've been doing that and each and every time we lose ground. There is nothing positive about a street fight and that's what this has become, like it or not.

What am I supposed to do on a singular level? The only way that this gets fixed is to for vast majority of AMA members to constantly paint the Commercial Drone Alliance as an evil empire, which IMHO they are. The best thing they can do for us is to leave us alone but they won't do that. The Commercial Drone Alliance called us all out and so did the Airline Pilots Association; every AMA member and as far as hating the drones. I don't hate the drones, in our hands they are safe because we as experienced users don't constantly push the limits of sanity when operating them. What I detest is the lack of flying skills and the fact that the operators rely on stabilization systems that have little testing in real world environments and are patently unsafe for operation.

When you take a cab in NYC do you want one with a driver or one without? Simple choice. To date the AMA has not been able to paint a picture whereby our representatives see AMA and it's members as a force for good and an asset to the industry over and above commercial drones. Why is that? The fact is we're different but you'll never convince knuckleheads like Nelson of that fact because he's demonstrated time and time again in other arena's that you can't confuse the issue with facts and make him understand.

The special rule has been retained. Now Sec 332. On to the Senate.
