After flying on and off for over 40 yrs, I find my entire collection of Century heli stuff is junk, obsolete and parts are zilch, nada, gone.
My JR Vigor with OS70 is a great cruiser but same case. NO parts. Reluctant to fly it.
Now, In fairness, I have several small electric heli's and a Blade500X. Same story, parts getting hard to find.
I'm not a poor person but getting tired of making poor choices when it comes to my investment in helicopter stuff.
After having done this for a very long time but, not consistently, I get discouraged by how fast the hobby folks take your money and run to the hills.
I'm primarily an airplane flyer that likes to fly helicopter in a fashion that most closely would resemble flying a sport airplane. Not a big 3D fan. I actually enjoy seeing a helicopter fly like a real helicopter fly's. That makes me a minority in a hobby that seems to live and die with 3D.
I've thought about going Audacity for a nitro heli? Basic, good machine. My question is this. Is nitro seeing a new interest or is it basically a thing that has come and gone? I like having a 12 minute flight as opposed to a strenuous 5 min. flight.
Any suggestions other than hang up my skids?

Bent,broke, blown...I'm having fun!

I was a century guy. Hawk, Raven, Preditor, forget the name of the 550 electric. Wanted to try something more main line and bought an Align 600 Nitro, flybarred back in those days. In about a year and a half, all the century birds were sold. Still fly that Align N600, in fact have two of em. Along the way had a nice Synergy Nitro and electric, both 600s' nice Helis.
For my money the Align 600 intros are a good buy. I’ve been flying mine for oh like seven years. Very very rare to run into a parts problem. Of course I’m sure I don’t have a single original part on either of them, but they are both my every day go to 600 Nitro Helis. FBL these days and the Os55 but the same core Helis. Can’t go wrong' good price, easy parts, great flyers. 10 mins or so flights with no header tank.
Mikado’s are my electric choice but that’s for another day.
There are nicer Helis, weight less cost more but pretty much the Same flight envelope. You won’t go wrong with an Align 600 Nitro. Try a vbar FBL unit and you will like tha too.

Thanks for the reports on the Align 600.
Question. Why does the Align distributor show the 600 nitro out of stock or discontinued? That actually was my first choice. They don't seem to be readily available.
More info. if you got it?

Audacity has been around for at 10+ years. The Pantera is a heavy duty model that allows you to set it up how you want.

I have the Align 600N LE converted to FBL.
Aside from a couple of upgrades they are very reliable.
I had to upgrade clutch assembly to a cnc metal housing, because the plastic would soften with heat and allow the bearing to shift out of alignment.
Install the elevator servo adapter to get it in the right position.

But aside from that I have had no issues aside from wear after 6 years of use.

You know? I've been saying this a lot lately - but I don't have a good answer to your question. I can only speculate that the Align 600N is out of stock everywhere because there are rumors of an Align 600XN coming. It is rumored to be similar to the 700XN. My guess is that stores don't want to be holding a lot of yesterdays models. But again, I'm only guessing.

To your larger question - what to buy - there are quite a few good 50s out there. None of then come with a guarantee that parts will always be available.

With the above said, I personally would be looking at Synergy or Align. Both seem to be well respected helicopters made by people that appear to be in the game for the long haul. In addition to these two, I have a TSA 700N Platinum and after some growing pains, I couldn't be happier. My learning had to do with getting it to meet my flying style but parts quality or availability were never an issue. I personally don't have a 600N but I'm certain the quality is on par with the 700.

Hirobo, in for the long run and priced to survive, not to destroy.

Synergy, excellent helicopters.

Align, have successfully priced themselves to destroy all others. Remember American manufacturers struggling to compete. Why do you guys support them. Purchasing based on price and not quality is precisely what has permanently destroyed American manufacturing.
Wake up!!!

Well. I'm not an Align guy. I just built my first - if you can believe that. Is there something about the quality I'm not supposed to like? As I approach 60 I've made a transition in my life were little comes into my house that isn't quality. I have no need or room for junk. Still, I like my Align 700.

I have recently had the impression that RR is inhabited by a majority of Trump supporters who would love to see “America great again “.

In spite of this observation there seems to be an enormous amount of Align pushing going on around here.

Just my observation.

Politics aside, the majority of my helis are Miniature Aircraft (made long before before the company migrated to Germany), Bergen and American RC Helicopters. If I was looking for a 50 glow, I'd check out a Pantera. MHGA!

I love Hirobo and thats what I buy, but I live in Australia. We unfortunately don’t manufacture much anymore.

If I lived in the USA I would buy Synergy. The more of you who do, the stronger and longer lasting Synergy will be.

Buy what you like. I think I gave more than equal air time to TSA. Isn't that Australian? And I'd love to see Amy and Matt sell more Synergy helicopters out of Alabama. I've got my first Align and I'm having fun with it. It sits next to my 4 X-Cells and 2 Raptors.

Synergy? USA/China
TSA? Australia/China
Align? Taiwan
Hirobo? Japan

Which should I buy to make America great (again)?

I've not paid particular attention to this but my understanding is that TSA is the product of Australia. TSA helicopter parts appear to be manufactured in China in a production facility created by the Australian company TSA.

If you're interested in supporting what appears to be an Australian brand, I'd get in touch with Nigel Brown. He is here on RR as well as FB. If you've got relatives in Perth you might stop by the next time you're in town.

Almost. N556. And I don't think they aren't out yet. They are pre-order only. How can you recommend one (in bold)? Or did I misread the comment?
