Post some pics of your setup and even a short video of the servos in operation.

I can try and loosen the links to check if thats a problem (how do I do that? My ball link sizer is meant for the smaller ball links found on hirobo type helis).
Just remove the elevator link one end at a time and move it with your fingers to see how tight they are on the balls. If they are tight you can give them a little squeeze with some pliers with them attached on the balls.

Had to ask the first-time heli question.

Appears something in your pitch cyclic isn't returning to zero each time.

Here is a shot in the dark... Is the swash itself healthy? Are the inner and outer races of the swash firmly linked together? I've had swashplates begin to come apart and it was a little hard to trouble shoot.

Good question Bill but he says it only either drifts backwards or forwards.

Oops. Sorry. I missed that detail. If it only drifts on one axis it's probably not the swash. These types of problems are really tough to trouble shoot without actually holding the model....

I haven't programmed a VBar. Does it have a "Dead Band" setting?

Your swash plate may be bent
- check to see if balls are perpendicular to a leveled surface
- if possible, compare against a known good Swashplate

I had bent a logo Swashplate and even though I used a Swashplate leveler, it was drifting.

Worst case, mechanically adjust the swash to Servo links to offset the drift
He says it can drift either forwards or backwards.

I upgraded the heli to a 700 size and the effect is more pronounced now. The heli uses a HPS 2 head. I removed and added weights to ensure that it is not a CG issue to no effect. The heli either drifts Aft or forward per flight in hover (that means completing a pack and powering down). I don’t know what’s going on and it is really pissing me off

It must be something with the elevator servo or link. Did you check for tight elevator linkages? Have the servos been in a crash?

Try swapping the elevator servo for one of the aileron servos, if the drift is now more side to side then it is the servo.

Pics of the swashplate

When I plug in the battery into the heli the swashplate is perfectly level however after the vcontrol completes its initialization the swashplate (about 3 seconds after power on) orients itself at an angle...either forward or backward. After moving the sticks the swashplate moved back to the position it initialized with. If I enter the swashplate level mode it is perfectly parallel. Is this normal behavior?

I checked the ball links...they move perfectly smoothly without any resistance

Just do doublecheck the swashplate on my hirobo evo 50 is perfectly level upon initialization. This is also using a vbar neo - the only difference is that this is not a ccpm heli. Is there something I am missing?

You have a setting or something wrong...
If I tilt the swash with the TX, it slowly returns to level.
You must have one setting higher than the other where its not slowly bleeding off, its slowly getting amplified.

This is on my Goblin also.

Very nice... I have kept up with this thread since the beginning but had no helpful ideas until you said the part about the swash moving off level. Sorry it took you so long to get flying right, but its all part of learning.
I've learned what to do now when something just isn't right.
That is what I like most about the vbar. I've flown Skookum first and took more tweaking to get flying well... when I switched to vbar, maiden flight was better than any flight with the skookum. ( I put the cyclic and tail gains on the knobs as no FBL can just set those numbers right ) a minute of adjusting and I was off and flying.
Anyway, happy flying.
