I have always had my eye on a Vario Skyfox. I'm curious as to what new engine can be used in these mechanics. As I recall, Vario always required a longer crankshaft, and I wasn't sure if they had changed this design in recent years.

are you set on nitro engine?
these little rascals fly really great with electric motors... , they do require some beefing up to reach "today's standards" but once this is done, they are still reliable platforms...

The design is the same. I have a couple of OS motors in stock if you go this route.

Still the same. Graupner and Heim used that crank as well. Rossi, OS and Webra offered that crank option as I recall. I currently have an OS in my Skyfox, an OS in a Heim 222 and a Webra in a Uni Star. I've got four spare engines with this crank sitting on the shelf.... unobtanium (except for Rossi) in today's world I'm guessing.
