Ummmm, that was really bad and costly. Both completely destroyed. They will not fix those. The landing pilot is in trouble.

She almost made a picture perfect landing in her designated box, but how in the hell could she ignore the other chopper not in the correct box ? She lost situational awareness.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

After reading that, she clearly though the other chopper was in its own box. Must be hard to know if it is or if it isn't when your'e talking a few feet, with rain, etc. IMO the other helicopter should not have been outside its box, especially since they didn't have comms protocol between all of them.

The real problem is why would any one want to place heli pads so close to each other??

Look at the full approach. The arriving heli comes in well away from the one on the ground, then moves in to park, nose in to the parked heli.

When I pull into a parking spot, I usually look to see if my spot is clear, not just move to my position regardless.
