Everytime i have seen video of a black man getting shot. I see a dumb ass giving the cops a hard time. Asking for it, then fussing when they get it.

For some reason you don't see that at all. One of us is blind, it is not me.
I see a lot more than you think. I try to see a situation from more than one perspective. True, you should comply when lawfully directed to do so by a properly identified officer. True, keep your hands still and your mouth shut. Follow those simple rule and you should be fine right?

Then why was a man shot in the face while is girlfriend was recording the incident live on FB? He wasn't combative, he did attempt to comply, and he even informed the officer that he had an authorized weapon on his person. Then as he reached for the ID the cop asked for he was shot dead. That officer was not punished but that black man lost his life sadly. So, simply comply with an officer as black man doesn't always guarantee his safety nor that the officers will be held accountable.

Transversely, I watched dash cam footage of a white guy who was pull over during a traffic stop physically beat up on an officer, jumped in his cruiser and obviously not compliant, yet not one bullet left the chamber...not even when two other cruisers sped into assist. How does that happen? I think the main thing is lack of consistency.

Quite consistent. One represents all, then 99.999% means nothing, then one represents all again. The consistent part is a large number of blacks insist on shoe horning racism into it.

Is there racism? Yes of course. There are also muslim terrorists, corrupt governments,,, and lots of otherwise normal people looking to connect the two, and they will stop at nothing to make that connection. There is a line where someone goes from being realistic to becoming a conspiracy nutjob. A lot of blacks have crossed that line.

More dishonesty. You couldn't be honest if you tried.

According to a police dashcam video/audio, after being asked for his license and registration, Castile told the officer he had a firearm, to which the officer replied 'Don't reach for it then'. After saying 'Don't pull it out' twice[9], the officer shot at Castile seven times.

So he did not comply in any way shape or form, he reached for his ID after telling a cop he had a gun, right after the cop stated 'Don't reach for it then' and 'Don't pull it out' twice

Because he was a scumbag who did not follow orders from the officer. Had weed in the car, had been pulled over 52 times previously and he had a gun in his pocket.

My own take is that it was a terrible accident.

Excepts the cops. Guy sitting in his car that fits the description of robbery suspects, says he has a gun, and you tell him not to reach for it! multiple times and his hand goes down to his pocket despite being told multiple times not to. If your a cop and you wait to see the gun, its to late and you may be dead.

It all goes back to.

Step 1 Shut the F up.
Step 2 Keep hands still.
Step 3 Do what they say.

Dude was so stoned he had no listening skills

Thank you for at least acknowledging that fact. And while you might feel that racism is "shoe horned" into everything when it comes to black people, it does have a major affect on many of them on a daily basis and not just because of perception.

And I will admit, it's easy to throw race in when something bad happens...it's only human nature. I do try and catch myself and take a step back before I speak, but it's not always just some dumb black guy dying because he didn't comply... sometimes it's really about race and that is what needs to be addressed and those involved held accountable.

But I do wish the solution were as simplistic as you and outhouse say.

Most of the time it is white

The above character/scumbag did not die because he was black, he died because he was stupid and stoned.

reminds me of the old saying "when you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail". That's what the black community reminds me of. The last guy in Cali is a perfect example.

Maybe if you quit looking so hard for racism you would not find it so often. Seems like a lot of your posts are specifically about these issues. If you look hard enough for something you can find it and you always seem too, even if it does not fit the narrative you make the attempt.

Here is the thing, the liberal news promotes racism even if it isn't there. Probably why so many make this mistake.

Take the black unarmed dude shot in Sacramento. Color was not an issue what so ever.
he did not follow their orders and paid the retail price for it.

Why do black people think they can run from police and not have negative actions afterwards? Half a jumping jack stops lead poisoning no matter what color you are.

Agree, Morgan Freeman is right. I have always wanted to ask some politician who says "we need to talk about racism"... Really now, what does that conversation look like?

I have a better plan. Come on over and let's talk about BBQ sauce.

Sorry to see something like this. It is of no value except to stir up racial hatred.

I don't think it's meant to stir racial hatred as much as it attempts to provoke candid discussion about a topic that certain people in the US would rather shove under the rug and pretend it never happened or say it wasn't that bad.

Remember, those images gingerly depict the atrocities that slaves had to endure for hundreds of years but if you look at the average public school text book, it's barely glanced over. In essence they read "South succeeded from the union." "North were the good guys and wanted to end slavery" somewhere in there....mention Harriett Tubman and Underground Railroad. "Lincoln freed the slaves" "General Lee" blah blah...North wins slavery is over yay.

History books talk about it in just a few paragraphs yet its more of a segway to Lincoln's assassination...which usually get it's own chapter. Meanwhile, jim crow, segregation, mob lynching, and the black Walstreet bombings gets relegated to a picture of some little black girl happily skipping along next to a row of sharecropper shacks as though life was great.

What they don't tell you is, the "North" didn't free the slaves because they cared so much about them as equal human beings...they did it mainly to hurt the pockets of the south whom they felt had too much political influence and power due to large profits they were unwilling to share with the Union from all of that free labor. It was simply a strategic move to try and balance the political and financial landscape in the country at the time.

What the history books also don't tell you is what many slave women had to deal with...could you imagine being sliced open with no anesthesia just so some sick man could watch your organs function and pretend to do medical research? Some were even sliced open alive from groin to sternum with babies still in their wombs. Why no anesthesia? Oh, it was said that black woman don't feel pain, because they are lesser evolved. Yes, that was the reason. Do know how they must have suffered?

It's sad...and some people would rather not mention the whole story because it's ugly. But they will talk about how great General Lee was without mentioning his role in the perpetuation of slavery and his contribution to the misery of other human beings.
