Hey all! I'm currently building a predator that I got from a member here. It was wrecked, and looked like it had sat for some time. Dirt, rust, and grime built up on everything. No worries however, as it was a great deal and there are plenty of workable parts. I wont have many before pictures as i started tearing into and cleaning the thing before deciding to document the process in case anyone else is interested, but will keep plenty of the build.
The helicopter was previously a gasser. I got it as an airframe with no engine, landing gear, or lower frame/gear mount bracket. I didn't quite have enough of the old bent frame pieces to convert it back to normal predator 90 parts, however I do have a freestyle I can use the bottom plate to measure, and 3d print a new lower bracket if needed. Or i have another wrecked gasser i can use for parts.
electric conversion, only 10s for light weight.
Semi symmetrical 950mm rotortech blades
ULTRA long giggle worthy auto hang time
10.5lbs maximum flight weight
Lazy Sunday flyer, just because!
Ill be using the only century 650A motor (565kv) and turning Dlux 160a esc as they are whats on hand. The motor mount is a stock predator clutch bell bearing block with a couple holes drilled. This flew over 500 flights in my old predator 60 and freestyle.
The ultimate goal is a clean, unique predator. Plenty of people fly 800s nowadays, but how often do you see a 950 flown just for fun?
More pictures to follow!
PS. Show me your predator condors!
