For you Texans, it's your bragging right. Size does matter.. I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ? |

This is how "Texans" see themselves:
Possibly a truer perspective of Texas' "size" would be...
That's Alaska (by the way)+ > ÷ Believe 1/2 of what you see and none of what you hear. Fake News will be the downfall of our Republic! |

Old joke... "How do you piss a Texan off? Tell 'em that if they cut Alaska in 1/2, they'd be the 3rd largest state."I go to Germany a lot. Unified Germany is about the size of Montana and has approximately 1/4 the population of they United States. An expression I use a lot is, "In America 100 years is a long time. In Europe 100 miles is a long way."Bill"Well, nothing bad can happen now." |

wjvail Europe 100 miles is a long way." I used to drive 115 miles twice a day to college until I could get into the dorms...I use to drive 50 miles one way to work in Austin up and down MoPac, a three lane highway set at 65... but stuck in first gear 80% of the time doing less than 15mph...Texas... yeah 1/3 the distance across the southern US is through texas... Wetbacks at one end... weirdos in the middle, and in bread-rednecks at the other
but still love it here.showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap... |

my friend went to Texas, the lady at the hotel told him to back his car in the parting space and remove his front plate,, some drunk Texans don't like Yankees,, or their cars.^his brother was driving threw Louisiana, he was driving to Florida, as I remember he said he was just 3 miles from the border to leave Louisiana, and a State Boy pulls him over, the State Boy asks what he was doing "hear" in Louisiana, asked my friend if he wanted his car searched, and told him he had no reason to be in Louisiana, told him to leave Louisiana fast and don't come back..both these stories took place in the later 70s, and I grew up with these guysJim Buzz Buzz Buzz |

I used to regularly go to the Johnson Space Flight Center and Ellington Air Force Base. Also to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Interesting places for sure. And if you want a better understanding as to why the Mexicans try to come to the US, go to El Paso and drive along the fence on the northern side of the Rio Grande river. Look at we have on our side. Look at what they have on their side. Question answered. However, make sure that you are not downwind of the meat packing plant(s) in Amorillo.Gerry Cullan, Gaui 200, 255; T-Rex 250, 450 SE & SA, Mini-Titan, Blade 450 |

I was born in Texas and I will be buried here as well. Spent way to long away from my beloved Texas. I always tell my daughters that there are two type of people that live in the USA: Those that are Texan's and those that WISH they were Texas's...... |
