Well done, but a deadly game was played. Must have been a 22lr?

Good job.
Guess he figured two women were an easy target for robbery.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Yes sir, any pistol VS a shotgun is a terrible match up.

I would say Good Job if the apparent Robber was in a body bag. Now he will turn around and sue the liquor store and get damages.

D@mn right it was a good job. They are alive and he is behind bars. Wish they had killed him? Yes, but that apparently wasn't his fate, yet. I very seriously doubt he will win a D@MN THING in a court of law considering he robbed a mother and daughter.

You all could possibly correct, but I believe that the mother/daughter/female card will trump the black card in the end. Hope the POS doesn't make it though....would save EVERYONE a lot of grief....

My handgun instructor says, only fire if you are in fear of your life. If you fire, fire to kill, not wound. If you kill someone, you are in for the ride of your legal life. Forget about race cards, that human being you just killed has family and they will pull out all the stops to clean out your bank account and life.

I couldn't resist passing this on:

"Peace is that brief glorious moment when everybody stops to reload." ~Author Unknown

Shooting Tips from Concealed Carry Instructors:

In a gunfight, the most important rule is: HAVE A GUN!
If you own a gun, you will appreciate these rules.

RULES:

A: Guns have only two enemies: rust and democrats.

B: Its always better to be judged by 12 than carried out by 6.

C: Cops carry guns to protect themselves, not you.

D: Never let someone or something that threatens you get inside arm's length.

E: Never say "I've got a gun!" If you need to use deadly force, the first sound they should hear is the safety clicking off or the hammer cocking.

F: The average response time of a 911 call is 23 minutes; the response time of a .357 is1,400 feet per second.

G: The most important rule in a gunfight is: Always Win - there is no such thing as a fair fight. Always Win - cheat if necessary. Always Win - 2nd place doesn't count.

H: Make your attacker advance through a wall of bullets! You may get killed with your own gun, but they'll have to beat you to death with it, because it will be empty.

I: If you're in a gun fight:
(a) If you're not shooting, you should be loading.
(b) If you're not loading, you should be moving.
(c) If you're not moving, you're dead.

J: In a life and death situation, do something! It may be wrong, but do something!

K: If you carry a gun, people will call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you have a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

L: You can say "stop" or any other word, but a large bore muzzle pointed at someone's head is pretty much a universal language; you won't have to press 1 for Spanish, or 2 for Chinese, or 3 for Arabic.

M: Never leave an enemy behind. If you have to shoot, shoot to kill. In court, yours will be the only testimony.

N: You cannot save the planet, but you may be able to save yourself and your family.

The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

..given today's attitude towards those that actively defend themselves I often wonder if just being robbed and shot is a better alternative to being run through court for the rest of your life, loosing your job/career, the stress, and ending up broke 1/4 of the way though the process...

...justice system is setup in favor of being a criminal.

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

If a criminal breaks into my house, I will expend 3ea 15rnd mags into his sorry ass and reload waiting for the police to get there. 45 air holes will probably lead to lead poisoning or another method of demise.

I am not messing around, he/she/it will not make it back to the exit door. My bedroom door has a bar. You will not sneak up on me in the middle of the night.

In the unlikely event that any of us have to defend ourselves, having a history of talking tough on the internet is probably not helpfull.

Other tips: "Shoot to stop" is better than "shoot to kill".

Use police ammo or standard ammo from a big name maker. Not "Super Duper Eplodo Magnum Flesh Blastor Extreems" . The big manufacturors will even supply a free lawyer who will confirm you are using reasonable loads for self defence.

Do not modify your defence firearm in any way, especially not trigger jobs. Similar reasoning as the ammo choice.

There is extreem stress and adrenaline, but don't talk a lot. "Scared for my life, stopped him from harming me." Anything you add will be twisted visiously by lawyers who get paid to ruin your life.

Very true words Spaceman. However, you should shoot to kill. In that moment, just shooting will probably suffice for most. It is common knowledge that a dead man/woman cannot talk in court. Not tough talk, not internet superman BS, just a fact.

And you are correct about not modifying your weapons, and using 'normal' ammo. Don't modify sh#t. And remember: You can carry that expensive Sig, HK, whatever, but every firearm you use is a THROW AWAY GUN. You will probably not see it again, and IF you do, it will be a long, long time when you do.

And don't incriminate yourself by making stupid statements. Just state that you were in 'fear for your life or your families life's'. That's it.

I hope to GOD I never have to use my 'guns' to end another human beings life......but I will if I have to. I love living in Texas....the law is on my side...as long as I am not stupid. God Bless Texas!

Ding! Winner winner chicken dinner.

As for Helisplat, Hitler wasn't commiting genocide, he was just "following the plan". So its different.

19 outgoing ignores, and 3 magazines for an imaginary foe. Has a certain symmetry to it.

Come on now, pat my ass.

yup.... if you shoot the dude.... and he falls to the ground... not moving, and you shoot again while they lay there... your case just went from self defense to murder.

the same is the case should the criminal be in the process of fleeing and you shoot them in the back.

making sure they are "dead" turns your case against you... the dead guy is now the victim and you are now the criminal...
