Hi Guys,
I am from Netherland and have a travel question:

Soon I am gonna Emigrate from Netherland to IslaMargarita South America.
I have 4x 700Size Heli's

Now i ship all my house and hobby stuff in a 40Ft Sea container, butt for safety reasons i would like to travel 1 or 2 700Size heli's (Logo 700 And Trex 700Gasser) by plane.

How do you travel your heli with a plane(experts like KyleDahl,BobbyWatts,BertKammeren etc. travel for events over to the whole world)
do they have special hard case travel bags for there heli,
I have contacted many "pro's" butt they dont respond my question

do you have any idea how to travel this big size heli's with a plane?
Please do you have picture's,information etc etc

Best Regards,

Mr JJ de Haan

I personally would have shipped the Helis with the house stuff.
I have never traveled with multiple 700 sized helis but if I were too, I would use a hard golf travel case (used for golf clubs). Removing the head and tail will help reduce footprint, and you could probably fit 3 700’s in a travel case-just guessing.
Good luck with your move

How do you get two 700 size helis in this hard case?? It seems like they are too long to fit. I have been looking for a hard case to carry my helis in, but never thought about golf hard case. Length wise, my 600 would fit with canopy, but two?

you remove the tailbooms and rotorheads. When I was traveling to a lot of events I went through 2 of the hardside golf cases.Never any heli damage and I've flown all over the US, Japan, scotland, china, taiwan, etc. Repeated trips and the cases get beat up with handling but if you mount the helis properly inside they don't get damaged. one of the "double cases", the rectangular ones, you can carefully fil two 700s, support equipment like starter and fuel pump, chargers, and still have room.

I recently relocated back to the UK and traveled with 3 goblins in a hold luggage. Took off the booms, heads and skids and packed them in my clothes and had the cases sellotape wrapped at the airport. The cases were normal samaonite suit cases, hard type though. No probs or damage. Transmitter went hand luggage, no lipos travelled tho

https://www.bax-shop.nl/hardware-dr...yxoCpwoQAvD_BwE

6S 5000/5500 Lipo's are traveling with the 40Ft Sea Container and not as carry-on
Can i Leave the RX lipo (2S4000Mah into the Heli??)or do i have to take this also off?
I now its free of trouble to 100Wh and the Rx= 7,4x4000=29,6Wh

I went to the Phoenix Arizona funfly once with a Trex 700 nitro I removed the tail and main blades and wrapped them together, took out the main shaft and head, removed the landing gear, and took out the fuel tanks. I put the main frame and canopy bubble wrapped in a box and the fuel tanks seperate but in the same box, I also took new fuel tanks, reason for this is fuel residue, I removed the tanks from the machine and wrapped them seperate and in the same box to see if anything would be noticed by security at the airport and if it was noted we could open the box and discard the used empty tanks and still have the new ones to use. alas nothing was questioned. and it was taken as checked in luggage. I packed my transmitter as carry on and although security paused through scanner I explained and they accepted it however I have to say the transmitter with all it's wires and components in the stay cleared looked like a suspicious device haha good luck I flew at the funfly in Arizona and returned home to utah the same way...

No team theyre all gone

JDH:
I found a golf club hard case at a yard sale for $50, disassemble the helis enough to fit within, and pack my clothing, tools, and other apparatus for the trip around my helis. I carry the lipos in a separate bag through security and tell them; "These are lithium batteries for a model helicopter" and hand them the bag to swipe for bombs and all that other "safety" crap.

They usually swipe the radio and case for bombs too. Accompanying radio with lipos usually helps the case of your traveling with a model heli instead of a bomb.

There is also a good chance TSA will ruffle your packed helis without your knowledge and take something if they feel compelled to. To deter this act, many locks, wraps of duct tape, straps, or any combination of these methods helps keep them out. If you can make them think it isn't worth their time to get into your stuff, they won't bother.
